Of the advertised 64 GB, how much is actually free when you first switch it on?
44.6 GB of the 64 GB are actually available, the rest being taken up by Android and the preinstalled apps. For your photos and videos, add a microSD card, sold separately, accepted up to 2 TB: it fits in the same tray as the SIM card, without taking its place.
Can apps and games be moved to the microSD card?
No. External storage only accepts media — photos, videos and music files — but not apps, which stay installed in internal storage. The microSD card is therefore used to free up space for files: it is the 44.6 GB of usable space that counts for your installations.
Do you have to choose between the SIM card and the microSD card?
No, the two coexist: the tray is a SIM 1 + MicroSD type. The tablet takes a single SIM card (Single-SIM) and a memory card at the same time, with no trade-off between 4G connectivity and storage. So you keep mobile data on the move while keeping your films on the card.
Which 4G bands does this Galaxy Tab A11 Lite support?
On 4G FDD, it covers B1 (2100), B3 (1800), B7 (2600), B8 (900), B20 (800) and B28 (700), as well as B2, B4, B5, B12, B17, B26 and B66; on TDD, bands B38, B40 and B41. It falls back to 3G when needed (B1, B2, B4, B5, B8) and to 2G GSM 850/900/1800/1900.
Is it light enough to hold in one hand while watching a film?
337 g for 211 × 124.7 × 8 mm: the size of a large smartphone. The 8.7-inch format can be held in one hand during a video or a call, and at 8 mm thick it slips into a bag without a bulky sleeve. The design follows that of the Galaxy S Series, with a clean silhouette and a refined finish.
What is the exact resolution of the 8.7-inch screen, and what does 90 Hz bring?
1340 × 800 pixels (WXGA+) on a TFT panel displaying 16 million colours. The 90 Hz refresh rate makes scrolling through social media and scene transitions noticeably smoother than at 60 Hz, and the screen stays clear even in direct sunlight.
Can wired headphones be plugged in without an adapter?
Yes, the 3.5 mm stereo jack has been kept: no adapter to buy. Without headphones, two 1 W Dolby speakers provide the sound, and Bluetooth 5.3 (A2DP and AVRCP profiles) supports wireless earbuds and speakers, including the Galaxy Buds, Buds2, Buds3 and Buds FE. Playback covers MP3, AAC, FLAC, WAV and OGG.
Can the battery be replaced by the user?
No: the 5,100 mAh battery is non-removable, so replacing it requires an after-sales service. This typical capacity is measured to the IEC 61960 standard, on samples tested by a third-party laboratory, and it is designed for everyday use: gaming, social media and streaming.
How do I transfer the data from my old iPhone or iPad?
With Smart Switch, by cable or wirelessly: contacts, photos, videos, notes and calendar events are carried over. A wired transfer requires iOS 5 or later on the iPhone, a wireless one iOS 12 at minimum; restoring from iCloud is also possible.
Can the tablet be connected to a TV with a cable?
No: MHL is not supported and the port is USB 2.0. This port is used for charging and file transfer, notably to a computer with the PC version of Smart Switch. To watch a film, MP4, MKV, AVI or WEBM files play natively on the tablet.
Does it have NFC, and which Wi-Fi is supported?
No NFC on this tablet: no contactless payment, and no tap-to-pair. On the wireless side, it supports Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac on 2.4 and 5 GHz (VHT80) and Wi-Fi Direct, which sends a file to a compatible device without going through your Internet router.
Can it be used as a GPS on the move?
