Of the 128 GB of storage, how much is really usable?
108.3 GB remain available once Android and the preinstalled apps are in place. For large files — films, photo library, archives — the tablet accepts a microSD card, sold separately, up to 2 TB, housed in the same tray as the SIM card without taking its place.
What do the 8 GB of memory bring compared with the 4 GB / 64 GB version?
The Galaxy Tab A11 comes in two configurations: 4 GB/64 GB and 8 GB/128 GB. This one is the more generous of the two: the 8 GB are aimed at fast, smooth multitasking — several apps open, a video and a conversation running in parallel — and the 128 GB leave room for large files.
Can apps be installed on the microSD card?
No. The microSD card stores media — photos, videos, music — but not apps, which must occupy internal storage. With 108.3 GB actually usable, there is still plenty of room for games and heavy apps, with the card used to offload files.
Does the microSD card take the place of the SIM card?
No: the tray is a SIM 1 + MicroSD type. The tablet is Single-SIM and holds the 4G SIM card and the memory card at the same time, with no need to sacrifice one for the other. You keep mobile data on the move while keeping your film library on the card.
How much space does it really take up in a bag?
211 × 124.7 × 8 mm for 337 g: it slips into a laptop bag, a school bag or a large handbag, and its 8.7-inch format can be held in one hand during a video. Note that the actual viewable area is slightly smaller than 8.7 inches, due to the rounded corners and camera notch.
What is the resolution of the 8.7-inch 90 Hz screen?
1340 × 800 pixels (WXGA+) on a TFT panel with 16 million colours. The 90 Hz shows when scrolling through social media and in scene transitions, which are smoother than on a 60 Hz panel. Video playback, for its part, is supported up to Full HD 1920 × 1080 at 60 fps.
How good are the cameras for photographing a document or making a video call?
The 8 MP rear camera has autofocus but no flash: photograph your documents in full light to avoid cast shadows. The 5 MP front camera is optimised for video calls, and recording goes up to Full HD 1920 × 1080 at 30 fps.
Is there a headphone jack, or do you need an adapter?
The 3.5 mm stereo jack is indeed present: no adapter needed for wired headphones. Without headphones, two 1 W Dolby speakers provide the sound, and Bluetooth 5.3 (A2DP and AVRCP profiles) handles wireless earbuds and speakers, including the Galaxy Buds, Buds2, Buds3 and Buds FE.
Is the battery of this Tab A11 Lite removable?
No: the 5,100 mAh are housed in a non-removable battery, built into an 8 mm-thick chassis — replacing it requires an after-sales service. This typical capacity is measured to the IEC 61960 standard, on samples tested by a third-party laboratory.
How do I transfer my contacts and photos from an iPhone?
Via Smart Switch, by cable or wirelessly: contacts, photos, videos, notes and calendars are carried over. A wired transfer requires iOS 5 or later, a wireless one iOS 12 at minimum, and restoring from iCloud is possible. A PC version of Smart Switch also exists for starting from a backup on a computer.
Can it be connected to a monitor or a TV through the USB port?
No: the port is USB 2.0 and the tablet does not support MHL. This port is reserved for charging and file transfer to a computer, where the PC version of Smart Switch takes over. To watch a film, MP4, MKV, AVI or WEBM formats play natively on the tablet.
Can it control smart devices, and does it have NFC?
SmartThings is supported: your compatible smart devices can be controlled from the tablet. On the other hand, no NFC: no contactless payment, and no tap-to-pair. Wi-Fi covers the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands on 802.11ac, with Wi-Fi Direct and Bluetooth 5.3.
