At what distance can this Holowits camera recognise a face?
According to the EN 62676-4 standard, it detects at 72 m, observes at 29 m, recognises at 14.4 m and identifies at 7.2 m. To formally identify a person, therefore, aim to install it less than seven metres from the passage point.
How far does this bullet camera's infrared illumination reach?
50 metres. That is what makes it suited to a driveway, a car park or a façade, where the camera needs to see far in complete darkness.
Can this camera be powered through the network cable?
Yes: it accepts PoE to the IEEE 802.3af standard, or a 12 V DC power supply. With PoE, a single Ethernet link carries both the image and the power — the PoE injector or switch is not included.
What can this camera's built-in intelligence detect?
It provides person detection and target attribute recognition, as well as behaviour analysis: line crossing, intrusion, area entry or exit, loitering. That is what distinguishes a person from mere movement.
Can this camera stay outdoors and withstand impacts?
Yes: an IP67 rating against water and dust, and IK10 impact resistance — the highest level on that scale. Enough to mount it on a façade or in an exposed passageway.
What field of view does this bullet camera's lens cover?
79.2° horizontally, with a 3.6 mm lens and an F1.6 aperture — a tighter framing than that of a wide-angle dome, but one that reaches further.
Can this camera count people or measure a queue?
Yes: it provides crowd flow analysis, head counting and queue length measurement. That is what makes it useful in retail or reception areas, beyond security alone.
Can this camera be integrated with a recorder from another brand?
Yes: it is ONVIF compliant, Profiles S, G and T — respectively video streaming, recording and advanced control. It also exposes an SDK and a REST interface.
Does this camera warn you of a technical problem?
Yes: it raises alarms for a missing, full or faulty SD card, network disconnection, loss of focus and IP address conflict. So you know that monitoring has stopped, instead of finding out too late.
