Frequently asked questions about this product

What video outputs does the RTX PRO 2000 Blackwell offer?
Four mini DisplayPort 2.1b connectors. These are small-format ports: to connect a standard DisplayPort or HDMI monitor, plan on one mini DisplayPort cable or adapter per monitor. The 2.1b standard provides the bandwidth needed for high resolutions, HDR and extended colour depth.
How many monitors can be connected to this card at the same time?
Four maximum, independently: four 4K monitors at 165 Hz over DisplayPort. If you are aiming for 4K at 360 Hz or 8K with DSC compression, the card drives only two. Enough to equip a two-monitor design workstation as well as a four-screen monitoring console.
Is the RTX PRO 2000's memory ECC-protected?
Yes: the 16 GB of GDDR7 includes ECC error correction, for 288 GB/s of bandwidth on a 128-bit bus. ECC corrects on the fly the memory errors that, over a computation lasting several hours, would make a render fail or silently skew a simulation. This is a fundamental difference from a consumer card.
What does its PCIe Gen 5 x8 interface offer?
PCIe Gen 5 doubles the bandwidth of Gen 4: its eight lanes therefore offer the throughput of sixteen Gen 4 lanes. The connector is full-length and fits in a workstation PCIe x16 slot. It is transfers between the processor's memory and the card that benefit, on AI, data science and 3D workloads.
What is the power consumption of the RTX PRO 2000 Blackwell?
70 W maximum, for a two-slot footprint — 6.9 cm high by 16.8 cm long — and active cooling. This low consumption is precisely what allows it to be installed in a compact workstation, without changing the machine's case or power supply.
Are its drivers certified for CAD and computing software?
Yes. Every RTX PRO card is tested on design, engineering and AI workflows, and benefits from ISV certifications from the main professional software vendors as well as continuously updated enterprise drivers. This is what ensures the consistency expected on a production workstation, whereas a consumer driver is aimed first at gaming.
Can an AI model be run locally on this card?
Yes, it is even its home ground: 16 GB of GDDR7, 5th-generation Tensor Cores supporting FP4 precision, and 545 AI TOPS. FP4 reduces the memory used by a model, which makes it possible to host an LLM or run inference directly on the workstation rather than in the cloud.
Does this card handle 4:2:2 video encoding?
Yes. The 9th-generation NVENC engine encodes H.264 and HEVC in 4:2:2, and the 6th-generation NVDEC decodes these same formats, with double the H.264 throughput compared with the previous generation. As 4:2:2 is the sampling used by production cameras, editing is done without prior transcoding.
Is the card new and under warranty?
Yes, new and covered for 1 year, with your invoice serving as the warranty document. The exact reference of this model is VCNRTXPRO2000-SB; the full technical details are in the NVIDIA technical documentation.
