Frequently asked questions about this product
Who is 300 Hz on a 24.5-inch monitor aimed at?
Competitive gamers: at this screen size in Full HD, the graphics card easily produces several hundred frames per second, and the whole playing area fits within your field of vision. The sync range covers 48 to 300 Hz.
What does the Rapid IPS panel of the MAG 255XF bring?
It targets response time: 0.5 ms grey-to-grey, compared with several milliseconds on an ordinary IPS panel, which limits the trailing behind fast-moving objects. The viewing angles and colour stability remain those of IPS.
What video inputs does the MSI MAG 255XF offer?
Two HDMI 2.0b ports and one DisplayPort 1.4a. The HDMI cable is supplied with the power cord: a console and a PC can stay connected at the same time, with no extra purchase.
Is the MAG 255XF compatible with AMD FreeSync?
Yes, it is certified AMD FreeSync Premium: the monitor's refresh rate follows the frame rate produced by the graphics card, which eliminates screen tearing when it varies during a game.
What is the AI Vision technology on this MSI monitor for?
To bring out detail in the dark areas of a game, by raising overall brightness and colour saturation without washing out the bright areas. Useful for spotting an opponent in a dark corner.
Is the MAG 255XF stand height-adjustable?
No: only the tilt is adjustable, from -5° to +20°. VESA 100 x 100 mm mounting is still possible for a monitor arm, and the whole unit weighs only 3.24 kg.
How much space does the MSI MAG 255XF take up on the desk?
557.1 mm in width, 220.1 mm in depth and 418.5 mm in height, for 3.24 kg. Its panel delivers 250 cd/m² with a 1000:1 contrast ratio, typical values for a fast IPS panel.
Is the MSI MAG 255XF monitor new and under warranty?
Yes: new, in its original packaging, with a one-year warranty; your invoice serves as the warranty document. The manufacturer's technical document is attached to this page.
