In 49 cm of width, the Oxygen Pro 25 brings together a semi-weighted keybed with aftertouch, sixteen RGB pads, eight knobs, a fader and an OLED display, which map themselves to the main music software.

DAW mode does the wiring
Hold the DAW button, turn the encoder to your software and confirm: Pro Tools, MPC Beats, Ableton Live, Studio One, Reason, Cubase, Logic, Bitwig, GarageBand, Reaper or FL Studio. Transport, fader, tracks and pan are then mapped automatically. Shift and pads 9 to 12 switch the knobs from volume to pan, to the track's Device controls or to sends; pads 13 to 16 trigger Save, Quantize, Undo and View.

One fader, eight knobs and sixteen pads, multiplied by four banks: the equivalent of 4 faders, 32 knobs and 64 pads. When you change bank, a control only takes over once brought back to the software's value, and the OLED display shows where to set it. In Preset mode, sixteen presets are built in the included editor.
Pads built for rhythm
The sixteen pads respond to velocity and light up in color. Note Repeat repeats the note of a held pad at the chosen time division, momentary or latched, at the tempo tapped on the Tempo button or synced to the software: a sixteenth-note hi-hat is played with one finger.

Smart Chord plays a whole chord from a single key, its note serving as the root; custom mode remembers the chord you play. Smart Scale limits the keyboard to one of sixteen scales. The arpeggiator replays the held notes according to the chosen type, octave, length and swing. Under your fingers, the semi-weighted PrecisionTouch keys add channel aftertouch: pressing harder after the strike modulates the sound.

On the back, the 5-pin MIDI output sends the notes from the keyboard, from the computer or both, depending on the global setting; the Oxygen Pro 25 then stays powered by the USB of a computer or powered hub. The sustain pedal input can also take another MIDI assignment.

Which software does DAW mode work with?
DAW mode automatically maps the controls to Pro Tools, MPC Beats, Ableton Live, Studio One, Reason, Cubase, Logic, Bitwig, GarageBand, Reaper and FL Studio. You choose the software on the display by holding the DAW button and turning the encoder; a user DAW mode accepts your own assignments.
What do Smart Chord and Smart Scale do?
Smart Chord plays a full chord from a single key or pad, whose note becomes the root; the chord type can be set, or learned by playing a chord in custom mode. Smart Scale limits the keyboard to the notes of a scale chosen from 16, so you no longer play a wrong note.
What are the 16 pads for?
They trigger drum sounds or samples with velocity response, and light up in color. With Note Repeat, holding a pad repeats the note at the chosen rate. Four banks give 64 assignments; in DAW mode, Shift and pads 13 to 16 also trigger Save, Quantize, Undo and View.
How many knobs and faders does it have?
Eight assignable knobs and one fader, plus a push encoder for the menus. Thanks to the four banks, they control up to 32 parameters and 4 software faders; soft takeover avoids a jump in value when you change bank, with the display showing where to set the control.
Can I control a hardware synthesizer?
Yes, through the 5-pin DIN MIDI output on the back, which sends data from the keyboard, the computer or both depending on the global setting. As the keyboard is powered over USB, it stays connected to a computer or to a powered USB hub in the meantime.
Does it need a mains power supply?
No: the supplied USB cable powers the keyboard and carries the MIDI data. On a USB hub that already powers other devices, prefer a powered model. A switch on the back lets you turn it off without unplugging it, and a Kensington slot takes an anti-theft cable.
How does the arpeggiator work?
Enabled with the Arp/Latch button, it loops the held notes according to the chosen type, octave, note length and swing, at the keyboard's tempo or synced to the software. In Latch mode, the notes keep playing after you release the keys; the tempo can be tapped on the Tempo button.
Which software is included?
MPC Beats, Pro Tools First M-Audio Edition and Ableton Live Lite, the AIR instruments Hybrid 3, Velvet, Mini Grand, TubeSynth, Electric and Bassline, and the Preset Editor, which creates custom mappings to load into the keyboard. Everything can be downloaded after registering the product.
