This product is covered for 1 year by a manufacturer's warranty (the brand's official warranty). Your iris.ma invoice serves as the warranty document: keep it safe.

Frequently asked questions about this product

How many minutes of runtime does the APC BX950MI-FR offer depending on the connected load?
9 minutes at half load (260 W) and 5 minutes at 70% load (364 W). At full load, runtime drops to about one minute. So it pays to size generously: the lower the connected load compared with the 520 W of usable power, the more time you gain to save your work and shut down properly.
How many devices can I plug into these 950 VA?
The 4 French sockets share 520 W of usable power: the 950 VA is the apparent power, with a ratio of 0.54. So it is the total wattage of your devices you need to check, not the number of sockets available — a PC, a monitor and their accessories fit within this budget.
Can the BX950MI-FR battery be replaced rather than buying a new UPS?
Yes. The 12 V / 9 Ah sealed lead-acid battery is replaced with an RBC17 cartridge, with a stated service life of 3 to 5 years. After a power cut, allow 8 hours of recharging to regain the full runtime of the 97 VAh usable capacity.
Is the power delivered on battery a pure sine wave?
No, it is a stepped approximation to a sine wave. Switching to battery takes 6 ms at half load and 10 ms at most. Check this point if the equipment you want to protect requires a pure sine wave.
Does it correct mains voltage fluctuations without wearing down the battery?
Yes: the automatic voltage regulator corrects both drops and rises without drawing on the battery, with an accepted input range of 140 to 300 V and an accepted frequency of 50/60 Hz. On an unstable grid, this avoids repeated switchovers.
Does it warn you when it switches to battery?
Yes: LED indicators show whether it is on mains or on battery, backed up by an audible alarm. On the other hand, the unit is not USB-compatible: shutting down the workstation is not controlled by software and remains a manual task, to be done in the minutes following the alert.
Can it be installed in a network cabinet?
No, this unit is not rack-mountable: it stands freely, and no two-post mounting is provided for. It measures 12 × 16 × 35.5 cm and weighs 6.1 kg, and its 1.22 m power cord sets how far it can be from the wall socket.
Is it noisy in a shared office?
Its noise level is 40 dBA. It is designed to operate from 0 to 40 °C, at altitudes of up to 3,000 m and at 0 to 95% relative humidity non-condensing, and can be stored between -15 and 40 °C: very ordinary office conditions.
What is its surge and lightning absorption rating?
The surge protector absorbs 273 joules, which protects the connected equipment from voltage fluctuations and the harmful effects of lightning on the line. The 4 French sockets are all protected, and the automatic regulator takes over for slower fluctuations.
Which standards does this APC UPS comply with?
CE and CB certifications, compliance with the UPS-specific standards EN/IEC 62040-1:2019/A11:2021 and EN/IEC 62040-2, and RoHS compliance on hazardous substances. The enclosure has an IP20 protection rating.
What comes in the box?
The UPS and its 1.22 m power cord, with the user manual; the whole package weighs 6.6 kg, compared with 6.1 kg for the unit alone. Plug it in and let it charge for 8 hours to have the full stated runtime available.
Is the BX950MI-FR UPS new and under warranty?
