This product is covered for 2 years by a manufacturer's warranty (the brand's official warranty). Your iris.ma invoice serves as the warranty document: keep it safe.

A problem with your product? Don't worry: contact us by phone, WhatsApp or e-mail. Depending on the brand, we direct you either straight to the repairer appointed by the brand to fix your product, or to us — and we take care of the rest.

  • If a repair is possible, it is carried out free of charge.

Frequently asked questions about this product

How long does the 5E700UF last on battery with a PC?
About 14 minutes with a single desktop PC, and 5 minutes if you connect two. These are the typical backup times stated: they shorten with a larger monitor, more power-hungry equipment or an ageing battery.
What does the 5E700UF's AVR regulator do when the voltage fluctuates?
It corrects the voltage without switching to battery, over an input range of 140 to 300 V. As long as the mains stays within this window, the battery is not used and remains available for real power cuts — that is the benefit of double boost on an unstable grid.
How many outlets does the 5E700UF have?
Two French outlets, into which you plug your devices directly without an adapter. With 360 W of usable power to share, it is sized for a light workstation: a desktop tower and its monitor, or an internet box with a set-top box.
Is the UPS quiet enough for a living room?
Yes, it has no fan at all: the fanless design covers the whole range up to 1200 VA, and the noise level stays below 25 dBA. It can sit under a desk or in a living room without being heard.
Can the UPS be switched on when there is no power?
Yes, it supports cold start: it switches on and powers your devices from the battery with no mains present. Its batteries are also continuously recharged, even when the unit is switched off, so they are full when a power cut occurs.
What happens if the power cut lasts longer than the battery?
The UPS shuts down once the battery is empty, then restarts by itself when the power comes back: the automatic restart function restores power after a full discharge, with no action on your part.
Is software needed for the PC to shut down properly?
No. The USB port integrates automatically with the power management of Windows, macOS and Linux: the system recognises the UPS and triggers the safe shutdown by itself. The Eaton UPS Companion software comes on top of this, to monitor consumption and adjust settings.
Why does 700 VA give only 360 W?
The 700 VA is the apparent power, the 360 W the power actually available. It is this second figure that you should compare with your equipment: add up the watts of the desktop tower, the monitor and the internet box, and keep a margin to maintain the stated runtime.
How do I know when the 5E700UF's battery is reaching the end of its life?
The UPS runs an automatic battery test and triggers a replacement alarm when the battery weakens. You are warned in advance, rather than finding out on the day of a power cut, when the protection no longer works.
Can I connect an internet box, a NAS or a camera to it?
Yes: the intended uses range from workstations and their peripherals to internet routers and NAS devices, as well as TVs, games consoles and home security systems. The only limit is power: stay below the 360 W of usable power shared across the two outlets.
Is the Eaton 5E Gen2 5E700UF new and under warranty?
Yes, new equipment, with the invoice serving as the warranty document, for a period of 2 years. It is CE certified by the independent body TÜV to the applicable international standards, and weighs 4.4 kg. The datasheet lists the backup times model by model.
