Is a SIM card included with the TP-Link TL-MR6400 router?
No, the SIM card is not included. You insert your own 4G SIM card from a carrier to get internet access; the slot is built into the router.
Does the TL-MR6400 work with all carriers?
Yes, it accepts a SIM card from any carrier. Simply insert the SIM, switch on the router and follow the instructions: setup is quick and easy.
What internet speed does the TP-Link TL-MR6400 modem/router reach on 4G?
It reaches up to 150 Mbps download and 50 Mbps upload on 4G LTE (depending on your coverage). It is a good choice in areas where ADSL is weak but 4G coverage is good.
What Wi-Fi speed and band does the TL-MR6400 offer?
It broadcasts Wireless N Wi-Fi at up to 300 Mbps, on the 2.4 GHz band only. It therefore has no 5 GHz band: it is a router designed above all to share a 4G connection simply and reliably.
How many devices can be connected to the TL-MR6400?
It can connect up to 32 Wi-Fi devices at once while remaining stable thanks to its processor, for HD streaming, browsing or video calls.
Can the TP-Link TL-MR6400 be used as a standard router with fibre or ADSL?
Yes. Thanks to its WAN/LAN port, it can work as a traditional Wi-Fi router connected to a cable, fibre or DSL modem, in addition to its 4G LTE mode.
How many Ethernet ports does the TL-MR6400 have?
It has 3 × 10/100 Mbps Ethernet ports plus 1 switchable 10/100 Mbps WAN/LAN port, for connecting wired devices such as a PC, a TV or a games console.
Does the TL-MR6400 router offer parental controls and a guest network?
Yes: it offers parental controls, a separate guest network, bandwidth management (QoS), an SPI firewall and even a VPN server (PPTP/OpenVPN). It can also be managed with the TP-Link Tether app.
Can the TL-MR6400 be taken on the move?
Yes, that is one of its strengths: being compact, it is easy to take on holiday or to a place with poor ADSL coverage, to quickly set up a Wi-Fi network over 4G.
