This product is covered for 2 years by a manufacturer's warranty (the brand's official warranty). Your iris.ma invoice serves as the warranty document: keep it safe.

Frequently asked questions about this product

How long does the BX2200MI-FR run on battery?
8 minutes 30 seconds at half load, i.e. 600 W, but only 1 minute at full load, at 1200 W. The difference is dramatic: on this UPS, loading it beyond half its rated power effectively wipes out the runtime.
What does the AVR regulator correct, and over what range?
It restores the voltage without switching to battery, over an input range of 140 to 300 V. That is a very wide window: where the mains voltage rises and falls all day long, the battery stays full for real power cuts.
What waveform does the BX2200MI-FR deliver?
An approximated sine wave, built up in steps, not a pure sine wave. This is the usual choice in the Back-UPS range; if your equipment explicitly requires a pure sine wave, you need to look for a model that states it.
Why do 2200 VA only give 1200 W?
The power factor is 0.54: 2200 × 0.54 ≈ 1200 W actually available. The gap is significant, and it is this figure in watts that you should compare with your equipment — a complete workstation, several monitors or a small server.
Can the BX2200MI-FR's battery be replaced?
Yes, under the reference APCRBC177. It recharges in 8 hours: after a long power cut, allow a night before the full reserve is back.
Can the runtime be extended with an external battery pack?
No, extended runtime is not supported on this model: its internal battery is the limit. The only way to last longer is to reduce the load plugged into the four outlets.
How many outlets does the UPS have, and what is in the box?
Four French outlets on the output side, with an input of the same type. The box contains the UPS and its user manual: as the outlets are French, you plug your devices' power cords straight back in.
How much space does the UPS take up, and is it noisy?
12.3 kg in a tower format, with a noise level of 40 dBA. At this weight and this level, it is better placed on the floor, under the desk, than next to the monitor.
Is the APC Back-UPS BX2200MI-FR new and under warranty?
Yes, new equipment, with the invoice serving as the warranty document, for 2 years. Its input frequency is detected automatically at 50 or 60 Hz ±5 Hz, with the output synchronised to within ±1 Hz. The datasheet covers the rest.
