Frequently asked questions about this product

Is the charging stand included with the Evolve2 85?
No, Jabra offers it as an option, as an additional accessory. Charging is done with the supplied USB cable, plugged into the computer — which is enough in most cases.
What is the battery life of the Evolve2 85?
Up to 37 hours stated, including 30 h of talk time with active noise cancellation. A full charge takes 2 h 30 min, and 15 minutes of charging gives back 8 hours of use.
Do the ear cups go around the ear or rest on it?
They go around it: the Evolve2 85 is over-ear, and its cushions enclose the ear instead of pressing on it. It is this shape, combined with ANC, that lets you truly shut out a noisy open-plan floor.
How many microphones does this headset have?
Ten: 4 analogue MEMS and 6 digital. Four are dedicated to the hybrid active noise cancellation, the others to picking up your voice on the retractable mic boom.
Can you use this headset wired when the battery is flat?
Yes, a 1.2 m 3.5 mm audio jack cable is supplied in the box: the headset switches to wired listening. It is the fallback that many professional wireless headsets lack.
What does Microsoft Teams certification actually bring?
The headset automatically becomes the default audio device and gets a dedicated Teams button. Its light flashes purple for a meeting to join, a missed call or a voicemail, and green when a call comes in.
Should you choose the MS or the UC version of the Evolve2 85?
The MS version, this one, is made for Microsoft Teams. The UC version is certified for all the main platforms — Cisco, Mitel, Avaya and the rest. The headset is the same; only the certification changes.
How does the headset connect to the computer?
Through the supplied Jabra Link 380 Bluetooth adapter, already paired: plug it in and the headset is recognised. The smartphone connects in parallel — two devices stay connected, with up to 30 m of range.
Is the Evolve2 85 also good for listening to music?
Its 40 mm speakers cover 20 Hz to 20 kHz in music mode, compared with 100 Hz to 8 kHz in voice mode, with SBC and AAC codecs. AAC is the codec used by Apple devices and music services.
Can the busylight be seen from all sides?
Yes, the Evolve2 85 busylight is visible from all sides and lights up during calls: your colleagues can tell from a distance not to interrupt you.
