Does the Voyager Focus 2 work on a PC that has no USB-C port?
Yes. The box contains the BT700 USB-C Bluetooth adapter as well as a USB Type-C to USB Type-A adapter: the dongle therefore plugs into a recent USB-C port just as well as into a standard USB-A port. The smartphone, for its part, connects directly via Bluetooth 5.1.
What is the real battery life over a full day, with noise cancellation on?
Expect 16 h of talk time with ANC and the “online” indicator on, which is the default setting. With these two functions off, battery life rises to 25 h; for listening only, it reaches 24 h with ANC and 40 h without. A full recharge takes less than 2 h.
Can it be used plugged into mains power to spare the battery?
Yes, in USB audio mode: connected to the USB-C charging cable, it runs on mains power and preserves its battery in the meantime. The charging stand supplied in the box also lets you set it down between meetings rather than letting it run flat.
Do the ear cushions surround the ear or rest on it?
They rest on it: it is an on-ear stereo headset, with a padded headband and ear cushions designed for extended wear. It weighs only 175 g and can be worn on the left or the right, with stereo staying correctly oriented either way. It measures 155 × 66 × 183 mm overall.
How many devices can you keep paired at the same time?
Up to 8 devices remembered, over Bluetooth 5.1, with the A2DP, AVRCP, HFP and HSP profiles. You can therefore leave the BT700 dongle in place on the computer and keep the phone paired directly: both remain registered simultaneously.
How far can you move from the PC without dropping the call?
Up to 50 m from the BT700 adapter, enough to leave your desk in the middle of a meeting. The range reaches 91 m with the Voyager Office base, a separate accessory that is not part of this pack. Voice alerts announce the connection status, remaining talk time and low battery.
Will the people I talk to hear the open-plan office behind me?
The headset isolates your voice with 4 omnidirectional microphones dedicated to transmit noise reduction and Acoustic Fence technology, which sets up a virtual barrier in front of the mouth. Two additional microphones, placed in the ear cup, feed the 3-level hybrid ANC (off, low, high) for what you yourself hear.
Is there hearing protection for intensive use in a call centre?
Yes, SoundGuard Digital: sounds are limited to below 118 dBA, G616 anti-startle caps noise below 102 dB SPL in line with the ACIF recommendation, and average daily exposure is measured so as not to exceed a time-weighted 80 or 85 dBA. These functions are enabled with the Poly Lens Desktop app.
Does the headset warn me when I speak while the microphone is muted?
Yes: Dynamic Mute Alert detects and notifies you when you talk while muted. The microphone boom lifts up to mute with a single gesture, smart sensors answer calls or pause music depending on whether you are wearing the headset, and a light on the ear cup tells the people around you that you are on a call.
Is it really Microsoft Teams certified, and on which systems?
Yes: certified for Microsoft Teams and Zoom. A dedicated button opens the Teams app from the headset with a single press, and the Siri and Google voice assistants respond too. As for systems, it is stated as compatible with Windows 11, Windows 10 and macOS.
What exactly is in the box, and is a case included?
