Frequently asked questions about this product
Does this DDR5 module fit a DDR4 motherboard?
No: the DDR5 connector is different from the DDR4 one. A DDR5 motherboard is required — the module cannot be inserted anywhere else.
Is this Patriot memory module suitable for a laptop?
No: it installs in a 288-pin desktop PC DIMM slot. A laptop requires a shorter SO-DIMM module.
What is the latency of this Patriot memory module?
46-46-46-90 at 5,600 MHz — in other words CAS 46. With DDR5, the latency figure goes up, but frequency increases more: bandwidth remains higher than that of DDR4.
What is the PMIC built into this memory module?
A power management IC built into the module: voltage regulation takes place on the module rather than on the motherboard. This is a feature specific to DDR5.
Is this product a kit of two modules?
No: it is a single module, which occupies only one slot. The others remain available for adding more later.
Does this memory module correct memory errors?
Yes, through on-die error correction — inside the chip. This mechanism is specific to DDR5 and distinct from server ECC.
Is this Patriot 8 GB DDR5 memory module new and under warranty?
Yes, it is a new Patriot Memory product, reference PSD58G560082, a double-sided module running at 1.1 V. The invoice serves as the warranty document, for 1 year. Datasheet: Patriot Signature Line 8 GB DDR5.
A single module to slide into a free slot on a desktop PC: the long format does not fit a laptop, and the motherboard has to accept this generation of memory.
Optimise the performance of your laptop with the Lexar 8GB DDR4 3200MHZ SO-DIMM memory module. This module gives you exceptional processing speed, improving your system's responsiveness. With its 8GB capacity, you can run several applications at once without slowdown. Upgrade your laptop and enjoy a
Compliant with the JEDEC and RoHS standards, with a carefully built circuit board for signal stability. Short 260-pin format, intended for 8th to 10th generation Intel Core and Ryzen ZEN 2 and 3.
The connector notch sits differently from that of DDR4: the module only fits a DDR5 motherboard. PMIC visible in the centre, 1.1 V supply and on-die error correction.
•Fits a 288-pin DIMM slot in a desktop PC
•Offset notch: cannot be fitted on a DDR4 motherboard
Bandwidth per core up and consumption down: 1.1 V, around 8% less than DDR4, with an on-board PMIC. On-die error correction, on recent AMD as well as Intel laptops.
Works with recent AMD and Intel platforms. Power management built into the module (PMIC) at 1.1 V and on-die error correction, with around 8% lower consumption than DDR4.
Laptops and mini PCs: the 262-pin SO-DIMM format does not fit a tower. CAS latency 46-45-45-90, 1.1 V voltage and JESD79-5A compliance, on Intel and AMD platforms alike.
