Frequently asked questions about this product
Does anything need to be set in the BIOS after installation?
No: the module is unbuffered and installs without any configuration, plug and play. It applies its 46-46-46-90 timings by itself, at 1.1 V.
Does this Patriot DDR5 memory module have ECC?
It is non-ECC in the sense of server memory modules, but it features the on-die ECC error correction built into DDR5: errors are corrected inside the chip itself, in real time.
How does this memory module monitor its temperature?
Through a thermal sensor located on the module's SPD hub, beneath an aluminium heatsink. Its operating range is specified as 0 to 85 °C.
Is this product a kit of two modules?
No: it is sold on its own (1 × 8 GB), to fill a free slot. Patriot offers two-module kits under other part numbers in the same range.
Which platforms is this Patriot DDR5 designed for?
For recent Intel platforms, which Patriot explicitly names as the target of the Signature Premium DDR5 range. The form factor is the unbuffered 288-pin DIMM used in desktop PCs.
Does this memory module use less power than DDR4?
It needs only 1.1 V, and Patriot points out that it uses less power and generates less heat despite higher frequencies and capacities. A power management IC (PMIC) is built into the module.
Is this Patriot Signature Premium 8 GB DDR5 memory module new and under warranty?
Yes, it is a new Patriot Memory product, part number PSP58G560041H1, barcode 4711378425208, RoHS compliant. The invoice serves as the warranty document for 1 year. Datasheet: Patriot Signature Premium DDR5 8 GB.
