Can the ViewSonic TD2423 be used with gloves or a stylus?
Yes: its touch technology is infrared, not capacitive, which makes it responsive to a finger, a stylus and even a gloved hand. It recognises up to ten simultaneous touch points, and a magnetic stylus holder is built into the chassis.
Can the TD2423 tilt back like a lectern?
Yes: its display stand tilts from 20° to 40°, so it can sit low for writing on it or be raised for conventional use. The stand is removable and the monitor accepts a VESA 100 x 100 mm mount.
Do you need to connect a USB cable for touch to work?
Yes: in addition to the video cable, the monitor connects to the computer through its USB 2.0 Type-B port, with the USB A/B cable included. This cable carries the touch input and powers the monitor's two USB Type-A ports.
What video inputs does the TD2423 offer?
Three: HDMI 1.4, DVI-D and VGA, with a 3.5 mm audio input and output. DVI and VGA make it possible to connect an older computer, common in kiosks and at checkouts. The HDMI cable is included.
What does the TD2423's VA panel bring to a touch monitor?
A 3000:1 contrast ratio, three times that of a typical IPS panel, with 250 cd/m² and 178° viewing angles on both axes. The deep blacks make the visuals of a kiosk or a menu easier to read in a dark room.
Does the TD2423 have built-in speakers?
Yes, two 2 W speakers. They come with a 3.5 mm audio input and headphone output, as well as a Kensington lock slot — useful on a monitor installed in a public area.
Does the TD2423 need an external power brick?
No: the power supply is internal, from a three-pin mains socket, with the power cable included. The monitor draws 15.5 W in typical use, 16.5 W at most and 0.5 W in standby, for an energy efficiency class of D.
