Can the Dell P2726H's USB-C ports display the image from a laptop?
No. The two USB-C ports on the bottom bezel are hub ports intended for accessories: they transfer data at 5 Gbps and deliver up to 15 W of charging, but do not carry video. The monitor receives video through its HDMI input or its DisplayPort 1.4 input, at the back.
How do I connect the Dell P2726H and activate its USB ports?
With two cables, both supplied: the 1.8 m DisplayPort cable between the computer and the monitor for the image, then the 1.8 m USB-A to USB-B cable, which links the monitor to the PC and brings the two USB-A ports and the two USB-C ports on the front to life. Without this upstream link, the monitor's ports do not communicate with anything.
Which cables are supplied with the Dell P2726H monitor?
Three: the power cord, a 1.8 m DisplayPort to DisplayPort cable and a 1.8 m USB-A to USB-B cable for the hub. A computer with a DisplayPort output is therefore ready to go straight out of the box; for an HDMI connection, buy the matching cable. The box also contains the stand, its base and the setup guide.
Does the Dell P2726H really display 120 Hz, and on which input?
Yes, at 1920 x 1080: this is the panel's refresh rate, and the HDMI input supports this resolution at 120 Hz. The supplied DisplayPort 1.4 cable connects the monitor to computers equipped with that output. The rate is then enabled in the display settings: at 120 Hz, scrolling text and cursor movements are much sharper than at 60 Hz.
Is this 27-inch monitor Full HD or QHD?
Full HD, 1920 x 1080, i.e. 81.57 pixels per inch on a 27-inch diagonal. Text and icons therefore appear larger than on a 24-inch monitor with the same resolution, which is comfortable at desk distance, but the image is less finely detailed than on a QHD panel of the same size.
Is the P2726H panel matte or glossy?
Matte. The 3H-hardness anti-glare coating diffuses the reflection of a window or a ceiling light instead of bouncing it back. The monitor is also TÜV Eye Comfort 4-star certified and flicker-free, with hardware-based reduction of blue light emissions to 35% at most: enough to get through a working day without stinging eyes.
Can the Dell P2726H monitor be used in portrait orientation?
Yes. The stand offers 150 mm of height travel, tilts from -5° to +21°, swivels from -45° to +45° and pivots ±90° into portrait, handy for reading a long document or code without scrolling. A VESA 100 x 100 mm mount is also provided for a monitor arm or a wall bracket, along with a stand lock and a Kensington security slot.
How do you get sound with the Dell P2726H monitor?
Through a Dell soundbar, sold separately: it clips into the two slots provided under the panel, with no cable trailing across the desk. Otherwise, you keep using the computer's speakers or headset, as the monitor does not replace the PC's audio output. The two USB-C ports on the front can also take a USB headset.
