Frequently asked questions about this product

Can I connect my laptop to the Dell P2426H with a single USB-C cable?
No. The two USB-C ports on the bottom bezel are downstream ports, facing the accessories: they transfer data at 5 Gb/s and deliver up to 15 W of charging, without carrying the picture. The computer connects over HDMI or DisplayPort for video, plus the USB-A to USB-B cable included to activate the hub.
My laptop only has USB-C outputs: can I still use this monitor?
Yes, with a USB-C to HDMI or USB-C to DisplayPort cable or adapter, provided that your machine's USB-C output supports video. The monitor, for its part, only receives the picture through its HDMI and DisplayPort 1.4 inputs: that is the end you need to arrive at, whatever cable you use.
What cables come with the Dell Pro P2426H monitor?
The power cable, a 1.8 m DisplayPort to DisplayPort cable and a 1.8 m USB-A to USB-B cable for the hub. A computer with a DisplayPort output therefore works straight out of the box; to connect over HDMI, you will need the corresponding cable.
Does the Dell P2426H really hold 120 Hz, and on which input?
Yes, at 1920 x 1080: both the HDMI input and the DisplayPort 1.4 input support Full HD at 120 Hz. The rate then depends on your computer's video output and is selected in the display settings. At 120 Hz, page scrolling and cursor movement are noticeably smoother than at 60 Hz.
Does this monitor, sold as 24 inches, really measure 24 inches?
Its viewable diagonal is 23.8 inches, or 60.5 cm, for a density of 93 pixels per inch in Full HD. The 24 inches refer to the size class. The bezels are only 5.80 mm on three sides, which makes two monitors side by side almost seamless.
Can the Dell P2426H be switched to portrait mode or mounted on an arm?
Yes to both. The stand offers 150 mm of height adjustment, tilt from -5° to +21°, swivel from -45° to +45° and a ±90° pivot for portrait orientation. The VESA 100 x 100 mm mount accepts a monitor arm or a wall bracket, with the panel alone weighing just 2.96 kg.
How do you get sound with the Dell Pro P2426H monitor?
Through a clip-on Dell soundbar, sold separately, which fits into the two slots provided under the panel. Otherwise, you keep the computer's speakers or headset: the monitor does not replace the PC's audio output. A USB headset can be plugged into the front ports.
Does the Dell P2426H use a lot of power?
11.70 W in normal operation, 0.30 W in standby and when off, with a maximum peak of 74 W. It is rated C on the European energy efficiency scale, certified ENERGY STAR 8.0 and EPEAT Gold with the Climate+ designation, and made with up to 95% post-consumer recycled plastic.
Are the P2426H's colours suitable for visual work?
It covers 99% of the sRGB colour space and 99% of BT.709, and displays 16.7 million colours on an IPS panel viewable at 178° on both axes, with a native contrast ratio of 1500:1 and 300 cd/m². Enough to work with confidence on web content, visual office work and everyday photo editing.
Is the Dell P2426H panel matte?
Yes, with a 3H-hardness anti-glare treatment: reflections from a window or a fluorescent light are diffused instead of being bounced back. It also offers flicker-free operation and hardware blue light reduction to 35% at most, all certified TÜV Eye Comfort 4 stars.
Can the screen be divided into work zones with several windows?
Yes, with the Dell Display and Peripheral Manager application: EasyArrange arranges applications in predefined partitions, up to five windows, and saves profiles to restore them at start-up or on a schedule. Firmware updates are also carried out there in 2 to 3 minutes, with the monitor in standby.
How much space does the Dell P2426H take up on the desk?
538.64 mm in width and 181.75 mm in depth with the base, for a height ranging from 364 to 496.53 mm depending on the setting. The whole unit with base and cables weighs 4.87 kg, the panel alone 2.96 kg: it can be moved and adjusted with one hand.
What is the warranty on the Dell Pro P2426H monitor?
Three years, with Advanced Exchange Service and Premium Panel Exchange: after a diagnosis by phone or online, a replacement part or unit is shipped. The product is new, in its original packaging, and your invoice serves as the warranty document.
