Can it be used in portrait mode?
Yes. The stand allows 90° pivot in both directions, in addition to 150 mm of height adjustment, tilt from -5° to +21° and 45° swivel to each side. Portrait mode is useful for reading a whole document, a long listing of code or a table without scrolling.
Can a phone be charged from the monitor?
Yes. The built-in hub includes a quick-access USB-C port delivering 15 W (5 V / 3 A), next to a USB-A port. For the hub to work, the monitor connects to the computer through its upstream USB-B port; the keyboard and mouse then plug into the monitor's USB-A ports.
What video inputs does it offer?
Two: HDMI 1.4 and DisplayPort 1.4, both HDCP 1.4 compatible. Each accepts Full HD 1920 × 1080 at 100 Hz, the monitor's maximum refresh rate. The unit has no VGA input: an older computer with only that output will need an active adapter.
Can it be mounted on a wall or on an arm?
Yes. The monitor detaches from its stand and has VESA 100 × 100 mm mounting holes, the standard used by most articulated arms and wall brackets. The mounting kit is not supplied by Dell. Without its stand, the panel weighs 2.58 kg, a load accepted by common desk arms.
Is the panel suitable for photo editing?
For everyday editing, yes. The IPS panel covers 99% of the sRGB colour space and 99% of BT.709, with 178° viewing angles and a 1500:1 contrast ratio. This is the colour space of the web and of most screens; professional printing in Adobe RGB, on the other hand, calls for a wide-gamut monitor.
