What does the 1800R curvature offer on this 27-inch Samsung?
It brings the edges of the image back towards your eyes, which heightens immersion on a large panel without visibly distorting straight lines. The VA panel delivers a contrast ratio of 3000:1, three times that of a typical IPS panel.
What video inputs does the 27-inch Samsung S36GD offer?
One HDMI 1.4 input and one VGA input. The 1.5 m HDMI cable is supplied: the monitor works straight out of the box, and the VGA input lets you connect an older computer.
Does 100 Hz make a difference on an office monitor?
Yes: at 100 Hz, scrolling a web page or a spreadsheet and moving the cursor look much sharper than at 60 Hz, which tires the eyes less. The response time is rated at 4 ms grey-to-grey.
Can the 27-inch S36GD be used as a USB hub?
No: it has no USB ports. Keyboard, mouse and peripherals stay connected to the computer; the monitor focuses on display, which explains why it weighs only 3.9 kg for a 27-inch panel.
Is the stand of this Samsung monitor height-adjustable?
No: only the tilt is adjustable, from -2° to +22°. On the desk, the monitor takes up 622.6 mm of width and 214 mm of depth with its stand, with an overall height of 458.6 mm.
