Who needs a terabyte on an iPhone 17 Pro Max?
Those who shoot in ProRes RAW 4K at 120 fps and do not want to offload the phone after every session. It is the only use that genuinely fills such a capacity — for photos and apps, 256 GB is still plenty.
How long does the iPhone 17 Pro Max play video?
Up to 47 hours of continuous video playback — that is indeed what the figure measures, not a day of mixed use. It is the highest figure in the range, ten hours more than the Pro version.
How far does the iPhone 17 Pro Max zoom optically?
Up to 4x, thanks to its 48 MP periscope telephoto camera. Beyond that, and up to 8x, the magnification becomes digital. The other two sensors — the Fusion wide and the ultra wide — are also 48 MP.
Is the iPhone 17 Pro Max display readable in bright sunlight?
Its 6.9-inch Super Retina XDR OLED panel reaches 3,000 nits in HDR, a level rarely achieved. It features ProMotion 120 Hz, stays on in standby thanks to the always-on mode, and incorporates the Dynamic Island.
What does the ProRes RAW mode of the iPhone 17 Pro Max let you do?
Film in 4K at 120 frames per second in a raw format that keeps full processing latitude for editing: exposure, white balance and colour curve can all still be adjusted after the shot. Dolby Vision is also supported.
Does the iPhone 17 Pro Max record sound well?
It has four studio-quality microphones and stereo speakers with spatial audio. That is what lets you capture an interview or the ambient sound directly on the phone, without an external microphone.

Wi-Fi 7, 5G sub-6 GHz and mmWave, a U2 UWB chip able to locate a compatible accessory to within a centimetre, and eSIM. Bluetooth is version 5.3.
