Frequently asked questions about this product

How much space is actually available out of the 512 GB?
478.7 GB is actually usable out of the 512 GB advertised, alongside 12 GB of RAM. The other versions of this model are the 1 TB with 16 GB of memory, and the 256 GB with 12 GB.
Until when will the Galaxy S26 Ultra receive updates?
Security patches are provided until 28 February 2033, i.e. seven years of Android and security updates. The device therefore stays protected and up to date well beyond a typical replacement cycle, a point that counts when working out the phone's real cost over its lifetime.
What battery life does it claim, and how long does it take to recharge?
Up to 31 hours of video playback on a non-removable 5,000 mAh battery. When charging, Super Fast Charging 3.0 brings the device back to 75% in around thirty minutes; actual battery life varies with the network, the apps and the number of calls.
How does Dual SIM work: two physical cards or an eSIM?
Three combinations are possible: two physical nano-SIMs, one nano-SIM plus one eSIM, or two eSIMs. So you can keep your main line and activate a second line without handling a card. The device supports 5G Sub6, 4G LTE, 3G and 2G.
Is the 100x zoom optical or digital?
Digital. The truly optical zooms are 3x and 5x, complemented by optical-quality zoom at 2x and 10x achieved with the Adaptive Pixel sensor. Beyond that, up to 100x, it is digital zoom, stabilised and enhanced by AI.
Which sensor does what among the four rear modules?
  • 200 MP f/1.4 — main wide-angle
  • 50 MP f/1.9 — ultra-wide
  • 50 MP f/2.9 — 5x telephoto
  • 10 MP f/2.4 — 3x telephoto
The wide-angle gains 47% more brightness and the telephoto 37%, an improvement that mainly benefits night photos and videos.
What is the built-in privacy screen for?
It hides the screen's content from people looking from the side, and you choose what is protected: the whole screen, certain apps, incoming notifications, or the entry of PIN codes, patterns and passwords. Head-on, the image looks normal; from the side, it darkens — useful on public transport or in an open-plan office.
What is the actual resolution of the 6.9-inch screen?
3120 × 1440 pixels, i.e. Quad HD+, on a Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel running at up to 120 Hz. The mDNIe image engine makes colour-depth precision four times finer and ProScaler sharpens details on screen, two processes that affect gradients and sharpness.
Can it handle the heat during long gaming sessions?
It is designed to: the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 customised for Galaxy is cooled by the largest Vapor Chamber ever fitted to a Galaxy, combined with an optimised thermal interface material, for 21% better thermal performance. The GPU is 24% faster, the NPU 39% faster, and ray tracing is supported.
Is Samsung DeX mode supported?
Yes, Samsung DeX is supported. For wired connections, the USB-C port is USB 3.2 Gen 1, and transferring your data from a computer is done with Smart Switch.
Is the S Pen supplied with the phone?
Yes, the S Pen is built into the Galaxy S26 Ultra: you write, draw and annotate directly on the 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen, with no extra accessory to buy.
How do you connect wired headphones to the Galaxy S26 Ultra?
Through the USB-C port, which also serves as the audio output. Wirelessly, Bluetooth 6.0 is compatible with Galaxy Buds and Galaxy Watch, and the device supports audio streaming for hearing aids (ASHA). Sound is output in stereo.
What can it record, and does the image stay steady when you move?
Up to 8K (7680 × 4320) at 30 fps, with slow motion at 240 fps in Full HD and 120 fps in 4K. Super Steady mode and its horizon lock keep the image level even if you rotate 360°, by combining wider optical angles, the gyroscope and the accelerometer.
Is the Galaxy S26 Ultra new and under warranty?
Yes: a new, genuine device sealed in its original packaging, supplied with its invoice, which serves as the warranty document for 1 year. It weighs 214 g and is 7.9 mm thick, has a fingerprint sensor and can also be controlled through the SmartThings ecosystem.
