Can you take the Galaxy Buds4 Pro to the pool or the beach?

No: this use is not recommended and the charging case is not water-resistant. The earbuds alone are rated IP57, tested in the laboratory in up to 1 m of fresh water for a maximum of 30 minutes. If they get wet, dry them before putting them back in the case.

Is a charging cable supplied with the Galaxy Buds4 Pro?

No: both the cable and the wireless charger are sold separately. So have your own ready for the first charge. It is the kind of detail you discover on the evening you unbox them rather than when choosing, and it is better known in advance.

Do you need a particular phone to enjoy 24-bit/96 kHz audio?

Yes. UHQ audio up to 24-bit/96 kHz, delivered by the Samsung Seamless Codec, requires a Galaxy from the S26, S25, S24, S23, Z Fold5 to Fold7, Z Flip5 to Flip7 or Tab S9 to S11 ranges, running One UI 6.1.1 or later. The option is disabled by default and is enabled in the settings.

Do the Galaxy Buds4 Pro work with an iPhone or a non-Samsung phone?

Yes for listening: Bluetooth audio connection works whatever the operating system. Advanced settings, however, require Android 12 or later with at least 1.5 GB of memory and a Samsung account. On a Galaxy running One UI 8.5, everything is controlled from the settings, with no separate app.

How many microphones do the Galaxy Buds4 Pro have, and how do they perform in noisy places?

Three per earbud, six in total. A deep neural network processes the sound independently on each earbud, with no exchange between the two, to isolate your voice from the background noise. This is what lets you hold a conversation on a busy street without raising your voice.

Does the Super Clear Call feature work on all phones?

It requires a Galaxy from the S26, S25, S24, S23, Z Fold5 to Fold7 or Z Flip5 to Flip7 ranges, running One UI 6.1.1 or later. It then transmits your voice in super wideband up to 16 kHz, whatever the calling app, provided the mobile network supports it.

Does 360 Audio work with my TV?

Only with certain Samsung TVs: Neo QLED 8K QN900D and QN800D, Neo QLED 4K QN95D, QN90D, QN87D and QN85D, OLED S95D, S90D and S85D, QLED Q80D and Q70D. On the mobile side, it requires a Galaxy or Galaxy Tab running One UI 3.1 or later. Head tracking also depends on the content.

Are Voice Detect and Siren Detect active straight out of the box?

No, they are disabled by default, as is Adaptive Noise Control. You enable them in the phone settings on One UI 8.0 or later, or otherwise in Galaxy Wearable. Voice Detect switches to ambient mode as soon as you speak, Siren Detect as soon as a siren approaches.

Can you tune the sound of the Galaxy Buds4 Pro to your taste?

Yes, with a 9-band equaliser that adjusts bass, treble and tone until you have your own sound signature. The earbuds also correct the sound according to the shape of your ear and the way you wear them, so the balance holds as you turn the volume up or down.

Can you answer a call hands-free?

Yes: a nod of the head accepts the call, a shake of the head rejects it, and the same gesture is used to respond to Bixby. Handy when your hands are full, or at moments when you cannot afford to speak out loud to give a voice command.

What does a 2-way speaker offer compared with a standard earbud?

Each earbud has a separate woofer and tweeter, each driven by its own amplifier: bass and treble no longer compete for the same driver, which opens up the sound. The woofer has 19.8% more diaphragm area than that of the Galaxy Buds3 Pro.

What is the shell of the Galaxy Buds4 Pro made of?

The blade visible on each earbud is made of real aluminium, shaped and then polished to a brushed finish. It is not just for style: it is also the control surface. The part in contact with the ear is designed for a secure fit during long listening sessions.
