Frequently asked questions about this product

Does the iPhone 17e take a physical SIM card?
No: it works with eSIM only. There is no tray to open, and your line is activated remotely with your carrier. Check that yours offers eSIM before ordering — that is the first thing to settle.
Is a charger included with the iPhone 17e?
No: the 20 W USB-C power adapter is sold separately. Plan for one if you do not already own one. MagSafe wireless charging is also supported, up to 15 W, with a compatible charger.
Does the iPhone 17e have a 120 Hz display?
Its panel is a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED, reaching 1,200 nits in HDR and featuring True Tone, which adapts the colour temperature to the ambient light. ProMotion 120 Hz, however, remains exclusive to the Pro models in the range.
How long does the iPhone 17e battery last?
Up to 45 hours of video playback — the figure does measure continuous video playback, not a day of mixed use. The battery is lithium-ion and can be charged via USB-C or wirelessly with MagSafe.
The iPhone 17e has only one camera: is that limiting?
Its single sensor is a 48 MP 2-in-1 Fusion camera: its resolution allows a lossless 2x digital telephoto, obtained by cropping the centre of the sensor. You therefore get two useful focal lengths without a second lens. The front camera is a 12 MP TrueDepth.
Is the iPhone 17e display scratch-resistant?
Its front is made of Ceramic Shield 2, rated for three times better scratch resistance than the previous generation. This is one area where this model makes no savings compared with the more expensive versions in the range.
Is the iPhone 17e's USB-C port fast?
It runs at USB 2: the speed is fine for charging and everyday syncing, but copying several tens of gigabytes of video takes patience. The Pro models in the range, for their part, go up to Thunderbolt 3.
What does the A19 chip of the iPhone 17e consist of?
A 6-core CPU, a 5-core GPU and a 16-core Neural Engine dedicated to artificial intelligence processing — the same number of neural cores as the Pro versions. RAM is 8 GB.
Is the iPhone 17e easy to use one-handed?
Yes: 14.68 × 7.16 × 0.78 cm and 170 g. For a 6.1-inch screen, it is one of the most compact formats in the range, the opposite of the Max models, which exceed 230 grams and 16 centimetres in height.
How do you unlock the iPhone 17e?
With Face ID, the facial recognition provided by the 12 MP TrueDepth module on the front. The same sensor is used for selfies and video calls. Sound comes from stereo speakers with spatial audio.
Does the iPhone 17e film in Dolby Vision?
Yes, 4K Dolby Vision video is supported: dynamic range and colour are recorded frame by frame, which gives a far more nuanced picture on a compatible display than standard video.
Is the iPhone 17e new and under warranty?
Yes, new equipment, with the invoice serving as the warranty document for 1 year. Keep it: it is the document you will be asked for when making a warranty claim.
