This product is covered for 2 years by a manufacturer's warranty (the brand's official warranty). Your iris.ma invoice serves as the warranty document: keep it safe.

Frequently asked questions about this product

Can the BV1000I-GR shut down the PC on its own before the battery runs out?
No, this model has no USB port: no software can communicate with it. It alerts you with a status LED and three distinct audible alarms — switch to battery, low battery threshold, and a continuous alarm in the event of overload. Shutting down the computer remains a manual task.
What waveform does it output on battery?
An approximated sine wave, i.e. a signal rebuilt in steps rather than a true sine wave. If one of your devices requires a pure sine wave, check this before choosing: this particular model does not claim one.
What does the AVR regulator correct, and over what range?
It restores a correct voltage without switching to battery, as long as the mains stays between 170 and 280 V. On a grid where the voltage rises and falls all day, this is what avoids draining the battery for nothing: it stays full for real power cuts.
How long does the UPS take to take over during a power cut?
6 milliseconds at half load and 10 milliseconds maximum. This is the exact time during which the output is not powered, between the loss of mains power and the UPS switching to battery mode.
What battery does the Easy UPS BV 1000 use, and does it recharge quickly?
A 12 V / 9.0 Ah sealed lead-acid battery, recharged in 8 hours and rated for 3 to 5 years of service. It is the unit's wear part: beyond that point, it is the battery you should plan to replace, not the UPS.
How many watts can you actually connect to a 1000 VA unit?
600 W, despite the 1000 VA shown in the product name. Add up the wattage of the computer, the monitor and the internet box, and stay below this ceiling: beyond it, the UPS sounds its overload alarm as a continuous tone.
Which outlets does the UPS have, and what is its input cord?
Four Schuko CEE 7 outlets on the output, and a 1.50 m Schuko CEE 7/7P input cord permanently attached to the unit. So make sure there is a wall socket within one and a half metres of the chosen location.
How much space does it take up, and can it fit in a rack?
16.05 cm wide, 30.5 cm deep, 9.25 cm high, weighing 5.7 kg. This low profile sits under a monitor or behind a desktop tower, but it cannot be rack-mounted: it is a workstation model.
What is in the box, and where can the unit be installed?
The UPS and its user manual: since the outlets are Schuko, you plug your own cords straight in. As for the environment, it operates between 0 and 40 °C and up to 90% humidity, with an IP20 rating that calls for a dry location.
How much surge energy can the UPS absorb, and is it noisy?
Its surge protection is rated at 156 joules, on a unit compliant with EN/IEC 62040-1 and 62040-2. The stated noise level is 40 dBA: audible in a quiet room, so it is better placed on the floor than next to the monitor.
Is the APC Easy UPS BV1000I-GR new and under warranty?
Yes, new equipment, with the invoice serving as the warranty document, for 2 years covering repair or replacement. The datasheet lists the full electrical and environmental specifications.
