Frequently asked questions about this product

Does the 3S Mini supply 230 V like a conventional UPS?
No. It delivers a 9 to 19 V DC output, 3 A maximum: it is a mini UPS for low-voltage devices, not for a computer. It replaces the power adapter of your internet box or camera; it does not replace a mains outlet.
Which devices can you connect to the 3S Mini?
Small network devices: internet box, router, fibre ONT, camera, Wi-Fi access point. These are precisely the devices that cut off internet access in the very first second of an outage, even though they draw very little power.
Will the 3S Mini connector fit my device?
Four barrel connector sizes are provided: 5.5/2.5 mm, 5.5/2.1 mm, 4.75/1.7 mm and 3.5/1.3 mm. Measure the plug on your current power adapter and check that it is in this list before ordering.
What battery does the 3S Mini use, and does it need maintenance?
A 3.7 V, 4.4 Ah lithium battery, maintenance-free — which explains its 400 grams, where a lead-acid UPS of equivalent power would weigh several kilos.
What input voltage does the 3S Mini plug into?
90 to 264 V, at 50 or 60 Hz, on a type F plug. This very wide input range lets it keep charging its battery on a grid where the voltage sags heavily.
How much space does the 3S Mini take up?
95.5 × 30 × 136 mm for 400 g: it slips behind an internet box or mounts next to a camera, taking up virtually no space. That is the main advantage of this format over a conventional tower UPS.
Is the Eaton 3S Mini 3SM36 new and under warranty?
Yes, new equipment, with the invoice serving as the warranty document. It complies with the IEC 62477-1 and IEC 62040-2 standards, which govern the safety and electromagnetic compatibility of uninterruptible power supplies.
