How long does the 3P1300UF run on battery?
15 to 20 minutes on average, enough to ensure a clean shutdown of the computer and protect the data being worked on. This runtime depends on what you plug into the battery-backed outlets: the heavier the load, the shorter it gets.
How many of the eight outlets stay powered during an outage?
Four out of eight. The other four FR outlets are surge-protected but switch off with the mains. Keep the four battery-backed outlets for the desktop tower, the monitor and the router, and leave the others to peripherals that can afford to shut down.
How many batteries does the UPS contain, and can they be replaced?
Two 12 V / 7 Ah sealed lead-acid batteries, replaceable. They are tested automatically and protected against deep discharge, and the unit can cold-start without mains power. However, runtime cannot be extended with an external battery module.
Does the 3P1300UF stabilise the mains voltage?
No, it has no AVR regulator: as an off-line unit, grid power passes through as is as long as it stays within the 184-264 V range (adjustable from 161 to 284 V), and the UPS only switches to battery when it goes outside this window.
Why do 1300 VA give only 840 W?
The output power factor is 0.6: 1300 × 0.6 = 840 W actually usable. Always compare your devices with this wattage figure, not with the VA in the product name, and keep a margin to preserve runtime.
Can you charge a phone directly on the UPS?
Yes, two charging ports are built in, one USB-A and one USB-C, separate from the USB communication port connected to the PC. They charge a phone or tablet without taking up one of the eight power outlets.
How much space does the 3P1300UF UPS take up, and can it be rack-mounted?
Only 81 mm wide, with a length of 312 mm, a height of 305 mm and a weight of 7 kg. It is a very slim tower format that slides against the side of a desk; no rack-mount kit is available.
How does the PC shut down on its own before the battery runs out?
Through the included USB cable and the Eaton UPS Companion software, which closes applications, shuts the system down safely, measures power consumption and gives access to the settings. As the port is HID-compliant, no specific driver needs to be installed.
Can this UPS be monitored remotely?
Not as standard: no network card is included and the unit has no Ethernet interface. A communication card slot is provided, and the optional CLOUD-PS card adds real-time status and notifications via a browser or a mobile app.
Is the UPS quiet, and up to what temperature does it operate?
It stays below 25 dB at one metre, and operates from 0 to 40 °C, up to 95% non-condensing humidity and 3,000 m altitude. Its 97% efficiency at full load limits the heat given off by a unit that is permanently plugged in.
Is the Eaton 3P Ellipse 3P1300UF new and under warranty?
Yes, new equipment, with the invoice serving as the warranty document, for 2 years. The box contains the UPS, its input cable, a USB cable, the quick start guide and the safety instructions; the datasheet gives the full electrical details.
