Eaton Ellipse ECO EL1200USBFR Off-Line UPS - 750 W / 1200 VA - 8 FR outlets
Extra-flat, it stands upright under a desk or flat under the monitor. Four battery-backed outlets out of eight, 10 minutes of runtime at half load, and the Eaton software switches the PC off over USB if the outage lasts.

Un très bon onduleur.
Il s'agit d'un très bon onduleur 1200 VA. Dessus j'ai branché un ordinateur Gamer (donc gourmand, avec alim 750 W), deux écrans 24" et le routeur-modem. En cas de coupure ça tient une bonne dizaine de minutes, le temps de tout quitter et sauver, sans perdre internet. Je n'ai pas installé le logiciel de gestion de l'onduleur.

J'ai acheté cet onduleur en novembre 2011, et j'avais oublié de poster un commentaire. Cela permet au moins d'avoir du recul sur le produit. Après 3 ans d'utilisation, tout est parfait, pas le moindre problème. Cet onduleur alimente tout mon matériel informatique et m'a permit plusieurs fois de résister aux coupures de courant. C'est beau la campagne mais le réseau électrique n'est pas parfait. Je suis donc très content d'avoir acheté cet onduleur pour sauver mon travail et mon matériel.

Excellent équipement de sécurisation des équipements
Après quelques déboires avec des irrégularités de tension, j'ai sécurisé mes équipements informatiques et télévision avec cet onduleur. Depuis j'ai fait disparaitre les risques de boitiers grillés, alimentations qui fument etc..

How long does the EL1200USBFR run on battery?
10 minutes at 50% load, i.e. 375 W, and 6 minutes at 70%, i.e. 525 W. That is time to finish, save and shut down properly — not to keep working through a long power cut.
How many of the eight outlets stay powered during a power cut?
Four. The other four are surge-only outlets intended for peripherals: they protect against surges but go off with the mains. Put the desktop tower, the monitor and the internet box on the first four.
What is the EcoControl function of the Ellipse ECO 1200 for?
It automatically switches off peripherals on standby when the master device shuts down: monitor, printer and speakers stop drawing power because the PC is off. This function is specific to the USB models in the range.
Does the PC shut down by itself if the power cut goes on?
Yes, via the supplied USB cable and the Eaton software included as standard: automatic shutdown, alerts and event history. It is compatible with Windows, macOS and Linux, so it works on most workstations with no special configuration.
How do you install a UPS that is 81 mm thick?
Vertically under a desk or horizontally under the monitor: the extra-flat Ellipse ECO format is designed for both. It is 81 mm thick, measures 312 × 305 mm and weighs 6.7 kg.
Does the UPS protect the telephone and internet line?
Yes, its built-in surge protection, compliant with the IEC 61643-1 standard, also covers data lines: telephone, modem, internet and Ethernet. A surge coming in through the line destroys an internet box just as surely as a spike on the mains.
Does the EL1200USBFR correct voltage fluctuations?
No, it has no AVR regulator: it is an off-line model. It lets mains power through as long as it stays within the 184-264 V range — adjustable from 161 to 284 V — and switches to battery outside it. On a highly fluctuating grid, a line-interactive UPS spares the battery better.
Why does 1200 VA give only 750 W?
The power factor is 0.625: 1200 × 0.625 = 750 W actually available. Add up the watts of the desktop tower, monitor and internet box plugged into the four battery-backed outlets, and keep some headroom below this ceiling.
Can the battery be replaced, and does the UPS give warnings?
Yes, the sealed lead-acid battery is replaceable, and an automatic periodic self-test detects the problem before it happens. LED indicators and an audible alarm signal when it is time to replace it.
What happens in the event of an overload, and does the UPS start without mains power?
A resettable circuit breaker cuts the power and is brought back into service at the press of a button, with no fuse to replace. And yes: the cold start function lets you switch the UPS on from the battery even with no power present.
