Appareil compact, simple d'utilisation, qui répond à mes attentes. Il a réagi aux micro-coupures d'électricité, ce que j’appréhendais auparavant, bref j'en suis satisfait et le recommanderai. Il est à préciser que c'est mon premier achat et que je n'ai pas un grand recul (2 mois) concernant la batterie interne.

J'en suis au second (pour un second ordinateur) et tout fonctionne à merveille. Il permet de lisser le courant et d'éviter des crashs intempestifs en cas de micro-coupures. Son autonomie permet d'attendre un peu avant d'éteindre l'ordinateur.

18 minutes at 50% load, i.e. 120 W, and 10 minutes at 70%, i.e. 168 W. That is long for such a small UPS — but remember that 120 W means an internet box and a set-top box, not a desktop computer.
How many of the eight outlets are battery-backed?
Four. The other four French outlets are surge-protected but go off with the mains. With 240 W of usable power, it is best to keep the four battery-backed outlets for the essentials: internet box, router, recorder.
Does the UPS protect the telephone line and the network?
Yes, protection covers the RJ-11 telephone line and the RJ-45 Ethernet network, in addition to the power outlets. The mains surge protector absorbs 310 joules.
Can the BE400-FR be wall-mounted?
Yes, a wall-mounting template is supplied in the box, along with the user manual. At 5.4 kg and 86 mm thick, it fits easily behind a piece of furniture or next to the internet box's enclosure.
What can you really plug into a 400 VA?
240 W in total, i.e. a power factor of 0.6. That covers the essentials: an internet box, a set-top box, a video surveillance recorder — not a desktop computer with its monitor.
Does this UPS correct voltage fluctuations?
No, it has no AVR regulator: it is an off-line model, which passes mains power through as it is and only switches to battery in the event of a power cut or when the voltage leaves the 180-266 V range.
How long does it take to recharge the battery?
16 hours for a full recharge — that is long, and worth knowing if power cuts come one after another. The replacement battery has the reference APCRBC106.
How do you know the UPS has switched to battery?
Through a status indicator that distinguishes running on mains from running on battery, and three audible alarms: switch to battery, low battery and overload. Switchover takes 6 ms typically, 10 at most.
