Will this Canon RF lens fit my EOS DSLR?
No: it has an RF mount, the mount used by EOS R mirrorless cameras. A DSLR with an EF mount cannot take it.
Is this 100-400 mm telephoto lens heavy to carry?
Only 635 g. That is very light for a 400 mm lens: it is what makes it usable handheld all day long, on a hike or for wildlife photography.
Is this lens stabilised?
Yes: an optical image stabiliser rated at 5.5 stops, which, according to Canon, ensures sharp images even handheld. Essential at 400 mm, where the slightest shake shows.
What is this lens's minimum focusing distance?
0.88 m. That is short for a telephoto lens: you can frame a small, nearby subject tightly, which noticeably broadens its uses.
Can you extend this lens's reach?
Yes: it can be combined with Canon RF extenders. They lengthen the focal length at the cost of a smaller aperture — useful when 400 mm is not enough.
Is this a fast lens?
