This product is covered for 1 year by a manufacturer's warranty (the brand's official warranty). Your iris.ma invoice serves as the warranty document: keep it safe.

Frequently asked questions about this product

Does the HyperX Cloud III connect via USB as well as jack?
Yes, both. The headset accepts a four-pole 3.5 mm jack connection in the CTIA format and a wired USB connection, with a USB-C to USB-A adapter included. So you can switch from a controller to a tower without buying another accessory.
Which consoles does the Cloud III work on?
On PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch, as well as on PC, Mac and mobile. It is one of the few headsets in the range to cover both console ecosystems without an additional adapter.
Does the Cloud III mic detach?
Yes, the 10 mm boom is detachable: you remove it to listen to music. It is a noise-cancelling unidirectional electret capsule, paired with a mesh filter that absorbs plosives, over a range of 50 Hz to 17 kHz.
How can you tell the mic is muted during a game?
An indicator light shows it clearly. Mute and volume are adjusted on the headset's control unit, without going back through the game or system menus — two actions you can do blind in the heat of the action.
What does DTS Headphone:X spatial sound bring to this headset?
Virtual 3D positioning: sound is placed around you rather than between your two ears, which helps pinpoint a footstep or a gunshot. HyperX specifies that activation is unlimited, with no subscription to renew.
How good are the Cloud III's angled 53 mm drivers?
They are angled towards the ear canal rather than set flat, which helps position sounds in space. The headset covers 10 Hz to 21 kHz, with a sensitivity of 100 dB per milliwatt and distortion stated at under 2 %.
Does this headset need an amplifier to sound right?
Its impedance is 64 ohms, twice that of a typical gaming headset: on a controller output, you will need to turn the volume up higher than usual. The USB connection solves the issue by providing its own conversion.
Does the Cloud III actively cancel room noise?
No, there is no active cancellation for the wearer: the stated noise cancellation is that of the mic. Isolation comes from the closed-back over-ear design and the memory foam ear cushions covered in soft leatherette.
How much does the HyperX Cloud III weigh on your head?
308 g without the microphone, 320 g with it. The headband is padded, the ear cushions are memory foam, and the whole headset measures 155 × 86.7 × 190 mm — useful dimensions when you are trying to fit it into an already full bag.
Can the Cloud III's frame withstand travel?
The frame is all metal, made of aluminium: HyperX presents it as resistant to travel and to handling mishaps. On a headset carried around every day, it is the headband that determines its lifespan.
How long are the HyperX Cloud III cables?
1.2 m for the headset cable and 1.3 m for the USB cable. The first is enough for a controller, the second to reach a tower sitting on the desk; for a tower on the floor, plan for an extension cable.
Is the Cloud III mic suitable for quality recording?
It goes up to 96 kHz at 24 bits over the USB connection, whereas a headset mic often makes do with 16 kHz. Its sensitivity is rated at -42 dBV, and its unidirectional pickup pattern rejects whatever does not come from your mouth.
