Absolument silencieux, facile à configurer (en fait, sur un Mac il n'y a rien à configurer: juste le câble USB a connecter et l'ordinateur fait le nécessaire y compris s'éteindre elle-même en cas de panne de courant prolongée). Un produit simple qui tient ses promesses.

How long does the EL800USBFR run on battery?
11 minutes at 50% load, i.e. 250 W, and 6 minutes at 70%, i.e. 350 W. Enough to save your work, close your applications and shut down without rushing — not enough to carry on with a work session.
How many of the four outlets stay powered during a power cut?
Three. The fourth is a surge-only outlet: it protects against voltage spikes but switches off along with the mains. Plug the printer or a charger into it, and keep the other three for the computer tower, the monitor and the internet box.
Does the PC shut down on its own if the power cut goes on?
Yes, through the USB cable supplied and the Eaton software included as standard: automatic shutdown, alerts and event log. It runs on Windows, macOS and Linux.
What is the EcoControl function of this UPS for?
It automatically switches off peripherals on standby when the master device shuts down: the monitor, printer and speakers stop drawing power because the PC is off. It is a continuous saving, not only during power cuts.
Why do 800 VA only give 500 W?
The power factor is 0.625: 800 × 0.625 = 500 W actually available. Add up the watts of what you plug into the three battery-backed outlets, and keep some headroom below this ceiling.
Does the UPS protect the telephone and internet line?
Yes, its built-in surge protector, compliant with the IEC 61643-1 standard, also covers the data lines: telephone, modem, internet and Ethernet. That is the path taken by the surges you never see coming.
Does the EL800USBFR regulate the mains voltage?
No, it has no AVR regulator: as an off-line unit, it passes mains power through as long as it stays within the 184-264 V range — adjustable from 161 to 284 V — and switches to battery outside it. On a highly unstable grid, a line-interactive model is gentler on the battery.
How do you install this 81 mm ultra-slim unit?
Upright under a desk or flat under a monitor: both positions are catered for by the ultra-slim design of the Ellipse ECO range. Allow for 81 × 235 × 263 mm and 4.1 kg.
Can the battery be replaced, and does the UPS start without mains power?
Yes to both: the sealed lead-acid battery is replaceable, with an automatic periodic self-test that detects the problem before it fails, and the cold start function lets you switch the unit on from battery with no power present.
Is the Eaton Ellipse ECO EL800USBFR new and under warranty?
