Frequently asked questions about this product

Can you add memory to the HP OmniBook X Flip 14-fm0018nk later?
No. The 16 GB of LPDDR5x-8533 is soldered to the motherboard and the chassis has no accessible memory slot: capacity is fixed at purchase. So choose according to what you will need in three years' time, bearing in mind that the 1 TB SSD leaves headroom on the storage side.
Is the HP OmniBook X Flip's screen suitable for colour-critical work?
It covers 62.5% of the sRGB space: enough to work comfortably on office tasks, light photo editing and video, but not enough to validate colours intended for print or professional photography. On the plus side, the panel reaches 400 nits and uses a 16:10 format, two real advantages in everyday use.
How does the HP OmniBook X Flip turn into a tablet?
The hinge rotates 360° and offers four positions: clamshell, tent, tablet and reversed screen. The display is touch-enabled and protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3, designed to resist scratches. An accelerometer and a gyroscope detect the orientation so the display rotates automatically.
How long does the OmniBook X Flip 14-fm0018nk battery take to recharge?
About 50% in 30 minutes, provided the PC is switched off and plugged into the supplied adapter; beyond 50%, charging returns to its normal pace. The power supply is a 65 W USB-C adapter, so a single cable is enough both to charge and to connect a monitor.
Is the 16 h 30 min battery life claimed for this OmniBook realistic?
That figure corresponds to the 59 Wh battery measured under the MobileMark 25 protocol, with light office work and moderate brightness. In video calls, with the screen pushed to 400 nits or when editing photos, expect noticeably less. Fast charging makes up for it: thirty minutes are enough to get back to half charge.
How many external monitors can you connect to the HP OmniBook X Flip?
The Thunderbolt 4 port alone drives up to two 4K monitors over a single cable, and transfers data at 40 Gbps. On top of that come an HDMI 2.1 port and a second USB-C port with DisplayPort 1.4a. Both USB-C ports can also charge a phone, even with the PC in sleep mode, via the HP Sleep and Charge feature.
What ports does the OmniBook X Flip 14-fm0018nk have?
The connectivity consists of two USB-A ports at 10 Gbps, one HDMI 2.1, one Thunderbolt 4 at 40 Gbps, one USB-C at 10 Gbps and a combined headphone/microphone jack. Both USB-C ports accept power and DisplayPort output: a docking station connects with a single cable.
How do you unlock the HP OmniBook X Flip without a password?
With Windows Hello facial recognition, using the 5 MP infrared camera. For privacy, a physical shutter covers the lens and a dedicated key mutes the microphone: two hardware protections, independent of the software. The firmware TPM completes the set-up for encryption.
Is Microsoft Office included with this HP OmniBook laptop?
No, only a one-month trial of Microsoft 365, reserved for new customers. The same applies to McAfee, as a 30-day trial, and to the Adobe offer. Windows 11 Home, however, is indeed preinstalled and activated: it is the only permanent licence supplied with the machine.
Is the HP OmniBook X Flip light enough to carry every day?
Yes: 1.38 kg for 31.3 × 21.85 × 1.46 cm, in an aluminium chassis with an anodised, sandblasted finish. It slips easily into a 14-inch laptop bag, and the 65 W USB-C charger fits in a pocket. Allow 2.44 kg if you still carry it in its original packaging.
How good is this OmniBook X Flip's Intel Core Ultra 7 256V processor?
It is a chip with 8 cores and 8 threads reaching 4.8 GHz, with 12 MB of cache and a built-in AI accelerator. It is designed for energy efficiency as much as for speed: heavy office work, video conferencing and photo editing run effortlessly, while intensive 3D computing is not its territory.
Can you play games on the HP OmniBook X Flip 14-fm0018nk?
The graphics are integrated Intel Arc 140V, rated with 8 GB: they handle casual gaming, video acceleration and common creative software. For recent titles at high quality settings, you need a dedicated graphics card, which this 1.38 kg convertible chassis cannot accommodate.
