Is 4 GB of RAM enough on the Galaxy A17 4G?
For messaging, social media, browsing and video, yes. If you constantly juggle lots of apps, the 6 GB or 8 GB versions keep more of them loaded and avoid reloads when you go back to a tab.
Can you add storage to the Galaxy A17 4G?
Yes, with a microSD card of up to 2 TB — all the more useful as only 105.8 GB is actually free out of the 128 GB advertised. As the tray is hybrid, however, the card takes the place of the second nano-SIM.
Is the Galaxy A17 4G's screen smooth?
It refreshes at 90 Hz, a step up from the standard 60 Hz: scrolling through a page or a news feed is noticeably smoother. The panel is a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED, with the perfect blacks typical of this technology.
What is the maximum video resolution of the Galaxy A17 4G?
Full HD 1920 × 1080 at 30 frames per second, with slow motion at 120 fps in HD. This resolution covers everyday uses and produces files that are much lighter to store and share than 4K, which matters on a 128 GB version.
Is the Galaxy A17 4G afraid of rain?
It withstands water splashes, within the limits of its IP54 rating: dust and splashes are covered, immersion is not. Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ also protects the screen from everyday scratches.
Does the Galaxy A17 4G stabilise its photos despite its price point?
Yes: its 50 MP f/1.8 main sensor has optical image stabilisation, which is still uncommon at this level of the range. Indoor and evening photos come out brighter and much less blurry.
Does the Galaxy A17 4G's front camera have autofocus?
No, it is fixed-focus: the 13 MP f/2.0 sensor has no autofocus. A sharp portrait is achieved at arm's length. The f/2.0 aperture, relatively wide for a front camera, does however help indoors.
Does the Galaxy A17 4G have stereo speakers?
Sound comes from a single speaker, with no stereo effect. Headphones or a speaker bring back the soundstage. Wired headphone output goes through the USB-C port, with an adapter needed for a model with a 3.5 mm plug.
Can the Galaxy A17 4G be used for contactless payment?
Yes, it has an NFC chip: once your card is registered in a compatible app, the phone takes its place at the payment terminal. It also has dual-band Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.3.
How many years will the Galaxy A17 4G stay protected?
Security support runs until 30 September 2031, under the six Android generations and six years of patches announced. It is a remarkable commitment for a model in this category.
What colours does the Galaxy A17 4G come in?
