Frequently asked questions about this product

Does this headset plug directly into a PlayStation controller?
Yes: it is a wired 3.5 mm jack headset, the socket found on the controller. No dongle, no pairing, no battery — plug it in and the sound comes through. It also works on PC, Mac, Nintendo Switch and mobile.
Is 7.1 surround sound available on the console?
No: Razer reserves 7.1 surround for Windows. On PlayStation, the headset plays sound in stereo — perfectly usable, but without the software positioning that helps you locate footsteps.
Does the mic on this BlackShark V2 X flip up?
Yes, the HyperClear cardioid mic is foldable: you flip it up along the ear cup between games. Its pickup zone is focused on your voice, which keeps out the keyboard, the fan and the room around you.
Does this headset electronically cancel the noise in the room?
No, the isolation is passive: closed over-ear cups and cushions that seal around the ear. No cancellation circuitry, so no colouring of the game audio.
Does the headset stay comfortable over a long session?
It weighs 240 g and its ear cushions are made of memory foam covered in breathable fabric and leatherette. The fabric limits heat on the temples; the leatherette seals better around the ear.
What are the 50 mm TriForce drivers?
50 mm drivers whose diaphragm is divided into three zones, tuned separately for highs, mids and lows. The bass therefore does not drown out high-pitched cues, which matters when listening for footsteps in a busy scene.
Does this headset need charging between sessions?
No, it has no battery: the jack carries the signal, one less thing to watch mid-game. The trade-off is the cable, which means keeping a controller or a machine within reach.
Is the BlackShark V2 X headset for PlayStation new and under warranty?
Yes, new and genuine, with a 1-year warranty provided by the invoice. Keep it: it is all you need for any workshop repair.
