How far can you move away from the DW Pro 1 base?
Two figures, two situations: 180 m in open space and 55 m in an office building. The second is the one that counts on a partitioned office floor, as walls absorb much of the signal.
What real-world battery life can you expect from this DECT headset?
It depends on the audio mode: 8 hours in wideband, 12 hours in narrowband. In wideband the voice sounds more natural but uses more power — that is the figure to go by if quality matters more than duration.
How long does the headset take to recharge?
Fast charging gives 50% in 20 minutes, or 4 hours of talk time: a lunch break on the base is enough to get you through the afternoon.
Can the DW Pro 1 battery be replaced?
Yes, it is swappable. That is what sets a call centre headset apart from a consumer model: after a few years of daily use, you change the battery rather than the headset.
How do you switch from the desk phone to the computer?
With a single button on the base: it switches the link from the desk phone to the PC or softphone. One headset therefore covers both systems, without re-plugging anything.
Can a colleague listen in on a call?
Yes, pairing lets you share the call and hold a conference call with up to 4 participants — useful when training a new agent or when two people listen in on a sensitive case.
Can you answer calls when you are away from your desk?
Yes, with one of the two optional devices available: electronic hook switching, or the HSL 10 mechanical lifter, which physically lifts the phone's handset. You then answer from the headset, away from your desk.
Is the agent's hearing protected?
Yes, by ActiveGard technology, which shields the ear from acoustic shocks and excessive sound levels. The headset is compatible with the 85 dB standard on workplace noise.
How can you tell your headset apart from the rest of the team's?
The headset can be personalised with the user's name, with a space provided for this purpose. On a floor where every desk has the same model, this is what prevents accidental swaps after a break.
Is this DW Pro 1 heavy for all-day wear?
65 g, on one ear only: it is a mono headset, so the other ear stays free to hear the team. The ear cushion is 50 mm in diameter and rests on the ear.
Which wireless technology does this headset use?
DECT CAT-iq, in the 1,880 to 1,900 MHz band, which is dedicated to voice and separate from the Wi-Fi band. The headset is GAP-compatible and its transmission power is adjustable to suit how densely the floor is occupied.
Is this EPOS Impact DW Pro 1 ML new and under warranty?
