Frequently asked questions about this product

Does this D 30 connect to a desk phone or to a PC?
To a desk phone: its base connects to it with the supplied telephone audio cable and its power supply unit. For a computer or a softphone, the USB version of the series is the one to choose.
Can you answer from the headset without touching the handset?
This requires an EHS cable, chosen to match the brand of the phone: it is what sends the phone the command to pick up and hang up. Without this cable, the sound does come through the headset, but answering calls stays on the phone.
Why choose the binaural version of this D 30?
To shut yourself off from the busy floor: both ears are covered, and your attention stays on the caller. The trade-off is that you hear your colleagues less well — it is a choice about how you work as much as about comfort.
Does the microphone let office noise through?
It is ultra noise-cancelling — one step above the noise-cancelling microphone of the D 10 — and paired with EPOS Voice: the person you are talking to hears your voice, not the floor around you.
How much freedom of movement do you have around the base?
55 m in typical offices, 180 m in line of sight. Inside a building, the first figure applies: it still gives you enough to cross an office floor without interrupting the call.
What battery life can you count on over a day of calls?
8 hours in wideband, 12 hours in narrowband, and 100 hours on standby. In HD quality, the 8 hours cover a full day; the headset then recharges on its base.
How long does it take to recharge the battery?
20 minutes for half a charge, 1 hour for a full one. A forgotten charge can therefore be made up during a meeting, without taking the workstation out of action.
Can several agents follow the same call?
Yes, the base accepts up to four headsets on the same call: call monitoring, training a new starter or a three-way conference can be done without any extra equipment.
85 g for a wireless headset with two ear cups: is that comfortable to wear?
That is the stated weight, battery included, spread over both ears and a detachable headband. The 50 mm ear cushions rest on the ear rather than enclosing it.
Is the agent's sound exposure kept under control?
Yes, by a workplace noise limiter that keeps the average at 85 dB over the day, and by ActiveGard against unexpected spikes on the line. The limiter is switched on with a switch or from EPOS Connect.
Does this headset work with another DECT standard?
The headset is GAP-compatible, GAP being the DECT interoperability standard, in the 1,880-1,900 MHz band. The link is also protected by secure pairing and DECT security certification.
Is this EPOS Impact D 30 Phone new and under warranty?
Yes, new in its original EPOS packaging, base and cables included. Your invoice serves as the warranty document and covers 1 year on part number 1000987. The manufacturer's document for the Impact D series details all the measurements.
