Does this D 10 Phone connect to a computer?
No. This version is designed for a desk phone: the base connects to it with the supplied telephone audio cable. To connect a PC or a softphone, the USB version of the same series is the one to choose.
Can you answer from the headset, away from the phone?
This requires an EHS cable, to be chosen according to the brand of your phone: it is what sends the phone the command to pick up and hang up. Without it, the headset carries the sound but answering calls stays on the handset.
How is this headset worn, and how much does it weigh?
In two ways, both supplied: a detachable headband or a soft ear hook, fitted as standard. The weight changes accordingly: 22 g with the ear hook, 50 g with the headband.
How far can you move from the base station?
180 m in line of sight, and 55 m in a typical office building. The second figure is the one that applies on a partitioned office floor. The transmission power also adjusts automatically to the distance from the base.
What talk time does this DECT headset offer?
8 hours in wideband and 12 hours in narrowband, plus 100 hours on standby. Wideband makes the voice sound more natural but uses more power: that is the figure to go by if you put audio quality first.
How long does the headset take to recharge?
20 minutes for 50% and 1 hour for a full charge. A lunch break on the base is therefore enough to cover the afternoon, and the headset starts charging again simply by putting it back on its base.
What is in the box of this D 10 Phone II?
The headset, the base station, a power supply unit, the telephone audio cable, the detachable headband, the ear hook already fitted, the quick guide and the safety guide.
Can several people follow the same call?
Yes, the base brings together up to four headsets on the same call — handy for training a new agent or for call monitoring. It is also suited to a workstation shared by several users.
How can you tell whether there is battery left before a call?
The base station shows the remaining battery life with indicator lights: you can see at a glance whether there is enough to last the day. The base is also weighted with a metal plate, so that it does not follow the headset when you lift it off.
Can the headset battery be replaced?
Yes, the lithium-polymer battery is replaceable by after-sales service. At a workstation used all day long, this is what determines the real lifespan of the headset, far more than its audio specifications.
Is the agent's hearing protected?
Yes, on two levels: EPOS ActiveGard against unexpected sound spikes, and a workplace noise limiter that caps exposure at an average of 85 dB over the day, which can be switched on with a switch or from EPOS Connect.
Does the headset switch off if you leave it out of range?
Yes, it switches off automatically after 30 minutes out of range of the base. So the battery does not run down if you go to lunch with the headset around your neck.
