Does the USB controller of this Engage 50 II detach?
Yes, that is the point of this version: the USB controller — the call control unit — separates from the headset. You can move from one workstation to another taking the headset with you, or replace the controller alone.
What is the SmartRinger function of this headset?
A motion-sensing ringer: the headset knows whether it is being worn or lying on the desk, and rings the incoming call where you are. You do not miss a call because the headset was on the table.
How much do the headset and controller weigh together?
65 g for the stereo headset alone and 152 g with the controller and its cable. It is the first figure that matters for comfort: the controller hangs along the cable, not on your head.
Three microphones: what is the real benefit in a call centre?
The 3-MEMS-microphone system separates your voice from surrounding noise: the customer hears the agent, not the call centre floor. The headset design is also noise-isolating, and noise reduction also applies during calls.
Can colleagues see the busy light?
Yes, the Busylight lights up during the call. The same lights signal an incoming call and, depending on the model, Microsoft Teams notifications.
What cable length is available, depending on the model?
The USB cable comes in 1.2 m, 1.6 m or 2.4 m, depending on the model. At a workstation where the tower sits on the floor, the longer lengths are the ones to go for.
Which platforms does this model work with?
With Cisco, Unify, Zoom, Google Meet, Amazon Chime and Works with Chromebook — enough to cover most contact centre environments.
Is the ear protected on this call centre headset?
Yes: SafeTone 2.0 and PeakStop 105 clip peaks, and the headset complies with European noise-at-work regulations, the G616 standard and OSHA rules.
