Frequently asked questions about this product

Can this Engage 45 SE kit be connected to a computer?
The box contains the headset, its base, its power supply and a telephone adapter cable: this kit is designed first and foremost for the desk phone. For a computer workstation, Jabra lists it as compatible with the Engage 55 USB adapter (Link 400) and the Engage 65 base, both to be purchased in addition.
How far can you move away with the Engage 45 SE?
Up to 150 m from its base, over DECT — a wireless link dedicated to telephony, independent of the computer's Bluetooth. Enough to cross an office floor without leaving the call.
Are conversations protected over this wireless link?
Jabra cites the DECT security standard and 256-bit encryption compliant with FIPS military standards. That is what counts when calls involve customer data.
How many hours of talk time does this headset offer?
Up to 13 hours, with the busylight switched off — the condition under which Jabra quotes this figure. A full charge takes 90 minutes, with 40% in 30 minutes and 80% in one hour.
Can the Engage 45 SE battery be replaced?
Yes, it is user-replaceable on both the stereo and mono versions — an office headset that outlasts its first battery. It is a rechargeable lithium-ion battery.
Why choose the Duo version rather than the Mono?
The Duo, this one, covers both ears and shuts out the hubbub of the office floor; it is rated at 83 g. The Mono comes down to 57 g and leaves one ear free to hear the team — it is a question of how your team works.
What do the indicator lights on the headset and its base show?
Nine states: call answer and end, battery status, busylight, presence in the desk stand, firmware update, incoming call, microphone mute, charging in progress and volume.
Does the microphone cope with a noisy environment?
It is a dual microphone with wideband audio, working over 100 Hz to 10 kHz and designed for voice clarity. Jabra presents the headset as rugged and suited to extreme environments.
