What does the MSI MAG 242C's curved VA panel bring?
A contrast ratio of 3000:1, three times that of a typical IPS panel, on a 1500R curve that brings the edges of the image back towards your eyes. Brightness reaches 300 nits, with a response time of 1 ms MPRT.
What video inputs does the MAG 242C offer?
One HDMI 2.0b input and one DisplayPort 1.2a input. From a laptop whose only video output is USB-C, you will need an adapter to one of these two formats, provided that port supports video.
Is the MAG 242C compatible with adaptive sync?
Yes: Adaptive Sync is supported over a range of 48 to 180 Hz. The monitor's refresh rate then follows the frame rate produced by the graphics card, which eliminates screen tearing when the frame rate varies.
This monitor is advertised as 24 inches: does it really measure 24 inches?
Its active area measures 521.4 x 293.3 mm, i.e. a diagonal of 23.6 inches: the advertised 24 inches refers to the size class. The pixel pitch is 0.272 mm in Full HD.
Is the MAG 242C's stand height-adjustable?
No: only the tilt can be adjusted, from -5° to +20°. VESA 100 x 100 mm mounting is still possible for a monitor arm, which lets you adjust the position freely.
Is this curved monitor easy on the eyes?
It features MSI's blue light reduction, designed for long sessions. The 1500R curvature also reduces the difference in distance between the centre and the edges of the image, so your eyes have to refocus less.
Is the MSI MAG 242C monitor new and under warranty?
Yes: new, in its original packaging, with a one-year warranty; your invoice serves as the warranty document. The manufacturer's technical document is attached to this page.
