Do you need an RG-AirMetro bridge to use the RG-ANT20S-90 antenna?
Yes. It is a passive 2x2 panel antenna, with no radio or network port: it connects via its two RF cables to a wireless bridge from the RG-AirMetro series, which carries all the active part. The antenna sets the range and the shape of the beam; the bridge provides the throughput, management and power.
What comes with the RG-ANT20S-90 antenna in its box?
Two RF cables, the complete mounting hardware and a protective cover, along with the manual. For mounting: one upward tilt bracket, one downward tilt bracket, two mast brackets, two clamps, eight flange nuts and eight bolts. Nothing else is needed to install it, apart from the mast itself.
What are the two tilt brackets of the RG-ANT20S-90 for?
To point the beam above or below the horizontal. With a vertical beamwidth of only 7°, a few degrees of offset noticeably shift the area covered several kilometres away. The downward tilt bracket serves a valley or nearby rooftops, the upward one a point located higher than the mast.
Why choose the 90° sector rather than the 120° or the 360° in the Reyee range?
Because it is the only one of the three to reach up to 10 km, thanks to its 20 dBi concentrated over 90°. The RG-ANT16S-120 opens 120° for 16 dBi and 5 km; the RG-ANT13-360 sweeps the whole horizon at 13 dBi but stops at 2 km. So you choose the distance to cover first, and the angle follows from it.
How is the RG-ANT20S-90 mounted, and how much space does it take up?
On a mast, with the two brackets and the two clamps from the box. The panel is 694 mm high excluding the bracket, 139.9 mm wide and 48.9 mm thick: you therefore need nearly 70 cm of free height on the tube, plus the clearance required for tilt adjustment.
How much does the RG-ANT20S-90 weigh once mounted on the mast?
1.82 kg, excluding packaging. The complete box, for its part, weighs 4.5 kg and measures 750 × 195 × 165 mm. The first figure is the one that counts for calculating the load at the top of the mast; the second only concerns handling to the foot of the mount, a useful distinction when climbing with the equipment.
Is the RG-ANT20S-90 suitable for a mountain or seaside site?
