Does the Reyee RG-ANT16S-120 antenna work on its own?
No, it needs a wireless bridge from the RG-AirMetro series. It is a passive component: no radio, no power supply, no network port. It fits onto the RG-AirMetro base station, which provides all the active part of the link, and it is the assembly that then communicates with the CPEs installed at the clients' end.
Which antenna should you choose between the Reyee 90°, 120° and 360° models?
It all comes down to sector width versus range: the RG-ANT20S-90 opens 90° at 20 dBi and reaches 10 km, this RG-ANT16S-120 covers 120° at 16 dBi for 5 km, and the RG-ANT13-360 sweeps the whole horizon at 13 dBi but drops back to 2 km. The wider the angle, the more the energy is spread and the shorter the useful distance.
What does the 10° vertical beamwidth of the RG-ANT16S-120 mean?
The beam is a flat slice 120° wide but only 10° high. The tilt given to the mount therefore decides the area actually covered: too flat, it passes over nearby rooftops; too steep, it shortens the range. These 10° still leave more room for adjustment than the 7° of the 90° sector.
How many clients can a station fitted with the RG-ANT16S-120 serve?
Up to 32 point-to-multipoint links, with a link rate that reaches 867 Mbps on 5 GHz dual-stream 802.11ac. This bandwidth is shared between active clients: sizing is therefore based on actual simultaneous traffic, never on the mere count of connected subscribers.
Does the RG-ANT16S-120 withstand bad weather and wind?
Yes: an IP55 rating, meaning protection against dust and water jets, and a stated wind resistance of 220 km/h. It operates from -40 to +80 °C, at 5 to 95% humidity, non-condensing, which covers an exposed rooftop as well as a rural tower.
Can the RG-ANT16S-120 withstand the surges of an outdoor installation?
It claims 6 kV surge protection and electrostatic discharge resistance of 24 kV, for both contact and air discharge. That is the margin expected of mast-mounted equipment, exposed to voltage spikes that travel up the outdoor cabling of an isolated site.
Does commissioning a Reyee station require a computer on site?
No. Pairing all the devices is triggered by a single press of a button and completes in 30 seconds. Monitoring then goes through Ruijie Cloud or the Reyee app, which analyse channel interference in one click and suggest optimisation settings on their own.
How much space should you allow on the mast for the RG-ANT16S-120?
110 × 48.5 × 361 mm, not counting the mounting bracket. It is a narrow panel, considerably shorter than the 90° sector in the same range, which reaches 694 mm in height: on an already crowded mast or a visible façade, this difference in size weighs as much in the choice as the antenna gain.
Is this Reyee equipment new and under warranty?
Yes, new equipment, with the invoice serving as the warranty document. The antenna is designed for continuous infrastructure service: its mean time between failures is stated at 400,000 hours, or about 45 years, an order of magnitude that corresponds to a long-term installation, not a temporary fix.
