This product is covered for 1 year by a manufacturer's warranty (the brand's official warranty). Your iris.ma invoice serves as the warranty document: keep it safe.

Frequently asked questions about this product

What is in the box of the UH5020C hub, and is there anything else to plan for?
It contains the hub and its quick installation guide. The 100 W Power Delivery port does not generate power: it passes on the power from your own USB-C charger, which must be plugged into it. You will also need your own HDMI cable to connect the monitor.
Can I connect two monitors to this hub?
No, there is a single video output: one HDMI port, at 4K 60 Hz. The other four ports are 1 USB-C charging port (100 W), 1 USB-C data port (5 Gbps) and 2 USB-A ports (5 Gbps): keyboard, mouse and external drive can all be used at the same time, but only one monitor.
Do I need to install a driver, and does it work with an iPad or Android?
No driver needed: it is plug & play. Supported systems are Windows, macOS, iPadOS, iOS, Chrome OS, Linux and Android, which covers an ultraportable just as well as a tablet or a phone with a USB-C connector.
Will my current USB-C charger be enough to reach 100 W?
The PD port accepts the 5 V/3 A, 9 V/3 A, 12 V/3 A, 15 V/3 A and 20 V/5 A profiles: it is the last one, i.e. 20 V × 5 A = 100 W, that your charger must be able to deliver to reach the maximum. Lower profiles are accepted.
How fast can I copy from an external drive connected to it?
All three data ports — two USB-A and one USB-C — run at 5 Gbps, i.e. USB 3.0. These speeds are laboratory measurements: real-world results depend on the drive used and the computer. Keyboard, mouse and external storage can stay connected at the same time as the monitor.
Does the casing hold up to everyday use in a bag?
It is made of scratch-resistant aluminium alloy, with a braided cable and a slot that stows the USB-C connector during transport. It is CE, FCC, RoHS, HDMI and BSMI certified and operates from 0 to 40 °C.
Is it compact enough to stay permanently in the laptop bag?
Yes: 108.2 × 40 × 12.2 mm with a 180 mm cable. It slips into a laptop bag pocket, and that cable length is enough to lay the hub flat next to the computer without putting leverage on the USB-C port.
Is this TP-Link hub new and under warranty?
Yes: new, supplied with its invoice, which serves as a 1-year warranty. The full list of ports and compatible systems is in the datasheet (PDF).
