Frequently asked questions about this product

Does the JBL Tune 530BT come with a charging cable?
No: JBL states that the charging cable is not included, the box containing only the headphones. Have a USB-C cable ready — your phone's will do. That is the point to know before opening the box.
What battery life is quoted for the Tune 530BT for music and calls?
Up to 76 hours of music and 45 hours of talk time: two separate figures, and it is the second that counts if you make call after call. Allow about 2 hours for a full charge.
Are five minutes of charging enough before heading out?
Yes: 5 minutes give back 5 hours of listening. It is the quick top-up when the headphones have run flat overnight, pending the full two-hour recharge.
Does the Tune 530BT sit on the ear or enclose it?
It sits on the ear: it is an on-ear model, with an inner ear-cup opening of 3 × 3 cm. This design explains its featherweight 152 g and its ability to fold flat into a bag.
Can you watch a film on your tablet and take a call?
Yes, multipoint keeps two devices paired at the same time and switches from one to the other. The connection uses Bluetooth 6.0, quoted as offering lower latency and reduced power consumption.
Can you change the sound of the Tune 530BT?
Yes, the JBL Headphones app offers three presets: Default for balanced listening, Bass to boost the low end and Vocal to bring voices forward, with a voice prompt at each change.
Do calls stay clear in a busy café?
That is the job of the 2 beamforming microphones located on the ear cups: they pick up the voice along its axis and reduce the background noise transmitted. They act on what the person you are talking to hears, not on what you hear.
Do these headphones need an amplifier?
No: the 33 mm drivers are rated at 30 ohms with a sensitivity of 102 dB at 1 kHz. A phone or computer output drives them without difficulty, including over a wired connection if the device allows it.
Are the JBL Tune 530BT Purple headphones new and under warranty?
Yes, new and genuine, with a 1-year warranty, the invoice serving as the warranty document. Keep it: it is all you need for any workshop repair.
