Network monitoring,
in Mini format.

This InsightPower G3 unit slides into the Mini slot of Delta UPS units and puts them on the network, over IPv4 as well as IPv6, with encrypted access and a Modbus TCP service.

Where it goes: the Mini slot

On the Amplon N 2 and 3 kVA, the Mini slot is the cover marked “MINI SLOT”, at the top left of the rear panel, above the output outlets. With the UPS and connected equipment unplugged, you cut this cover at its three attachment points, pull out the UPS ribbon cable and connect it to the card, then secure it with the two screws supplied.

Both LEDs flashing together? The card is starting up or updating its firmware: do not switch off the UPS or remove the card before it finishes, or it may be damaged.

Frequently asked questions about this product

Is this card compatible with the Amplon N 2 kVA or 3 kVA UPS?
Yes. The Amplon N 2 and 3 kVA have a Mini slot on the rear panel that accepts a Mini SNMP, Mini relay, Mini Modbus or Mini TVSS card: the SCMS100035 connects to the UPS ribbon cable and is secured with two screws. Delta also specifies it for the N series from revision 05 onwards and for the MX series.
Does it work with an Amplon RT 1 to 3 kVA UPS?
No. The Amplon RT 1 to 3 kVA have a larger Smart slot, which takes the gold-finger SNMP card (3915100120-S) and not this Mini unit. The two formats are not interchangeable. Agilon VX units have no card slot: they are managed through their USB port.
Can the card be installed without switching off the UPS?
No. Delta requires all power sources and all equipment connected to the UPS to be disconnected before fitting the card, otherwise a short circuit may shut down or damage the UPS. You then cut the Mini slot cover at its three attachment points, pull out the ribbon cable, connect it to the card, then slide the card into the slot and screw it in place.
Does the card support IPv6, SNMPv3 and HTTPS?
Yes. It works over IPv4 and IPv6, with DHCP or DHCPv6, and encrypts access through HTTPS, SSH, SFTP and SNMPv3, with up to eight SNMPv3 users. The unencrypted protocols, HTTP, Telnet and FTP, can be disabled one by one from the Service page of the interface.
How do I connect to the card for the first time?
Connect it to the network: its DHCPv4 client is enabled at the factory, so it obtains an address automatically. Then open https://InsightPower in a browser, with the admin account and the password password, to be changed at the first login. Without DHCP, it answers on 192.168.1.100, and the EzSetting utility finds it on the local network.
Can it shut down my servers automatically during a power cut?
Yes. The ShutdownAgent software, installed on each server, receives the card's alert and closes the system cleanly. The card waits for the longest shutdown delay among the systems connected to it, then sends the UPS its own switch-off delay: the servers stop before the UPS cuts the power.
Can the UPS be integrated into Modbus or SNMP monitoring?
Yes. The card exposes the UPS status over Modbus TCP, on port 502 with a slave ID from 1 to 254, and over SNMP v1, v2c or v3 through the Delta MIB. It sends traps and INFORMs to up to 32 addresses, and forwards its log to a remote Syslog server.
What is in the box?
The InsightPower G3 Mini SNMP card, an RJ45 to DB9 cable to configure it from a computer through its console port, and two fixing screws. The Ethernet cable linking it to your switch is not in the box: a standard RJ45 patch cord is enough, as the card connects at 10/100 Mbit/s.
Can an environmental sensor be connected to the card?
Yes, a Delta EnviroProbe sensor sold separately, connected to the card's COM console port. Its readings and input contacts then appear on an Environment page of the web interface, which only shows once the sensor is connected, and its events trigger the same alerts as those of the UPS.
