A whole rack held up by one UPS

The most powerful Amplon N delivers 2,700 W in double conversion from six internal 12 V, 9 Ah batteries. The front carries the screen and three buttons; all the wiring goes through the back, where seven outlets wait for servers, storage and network.

Three ways to control it

The same UPS is controlled from its front panel, from a computer connected over USB or from the network: choose according to the size of the room and how many people look after it.

Three buttons, SETUP, ON and OFF, and a screen showing input or output voltage and frequency, load in kVA, kW or percent, battery status, temperature and, during an outage, the remaining backup time. Holding a button for 3 seconds in normal operation starts a 10-second battery test. In setup mode you set the output voltage and frequency, the bypass range and the overload alarm, and you can mute the buzzer.

Connected to a computer through its USB port, with the virtual COM port driver and UPSentry 2012 software, the UPS is monitored from the desk: live status, estimated battery reserve before or during an outage, and an automatic battery test at regular intervals, which the panel alone cannot schedule.

The MINI slot at the back takes an optional card: SNMP to supervise the UPS over the network, relay I/O to connect its states to a contact-based installation, Modbus for building management, or TVSS to add surge protection. No card is supplied: you equip the UPS to suit the room.

What it powers, and what it refuses

Six C13 outlets and one C19 outlet: the original cords of servers, storage arrays and switches plug straight in, and the C19 takes the most power-hungry device.

  • Never in a loopThe UPS input cord never plugs into its own output outlets.

Where to put it: in a temperate, dry room, with 15 cm clear on every side for ventilation and the grilles never covered. Connect it to an earthed outlet, without an extension cord, with upstream and downstream protection installed within easy reach. In a dusty room, fit it with a dust filter.

The same 190 × 390 × 325 mm cabinet exists in 2 kVA: the Amplon N 2K, with 1,800 W and four batteries.

Frequently asked questions about this product

How much runtime does the Delta Amplon N 3K UPS offer?
About 13 minutes at half load, 7 minutes at 75% load and 4.5 minutes at full load (2700 W). That is enough time to finish a task and shut the servers down cleanly, or to hold until a generator starts. This model does not accept an external battery pack: for more runtime, you need a model with extendable batteries.
Why choose the online Amplon N 3K rather than a line-interactive UPS?
Because it rebuilds the power continuously: your equipment is powered by the UPS, never directly by the grid. No transfer time when power fails, a pure sine wave and an output voltage held within ± 2%, even when the mains varies from 80 to 280 V. It is the protection expected for a server or critical equipment.
Which equipment can be connected to the Delta Amplon N 3K?
Six devices on its IEC C13 outlets, the format of servers, NAS, switches and PCs, plus one power-hungry device on the 16 A C19 outlet. A 10 A output cord and a 16 A output cord are included. The UPS itself connects to the mains with its 16 A input cord, on a wall socket rated for that current.
Can the Amplon N 3K be monitored remotely?
Yes. Through its USB port and the UPSentry 2012 software, it triggers the automatic shutdown of servers and tracks the battery status. Its MINI slot accepts an optional SNMP card for network monitoring, a relay contact card or a Modbus card for building management.
What is the difference between the Amplon N 3K and the Amplon N 2K?
The 3K delivers 3000 VA / 2700 W versus 2000 VA / 1800 W, with six 12 V / 9 Ah batteries instead of four, and announces the same typical runtime at an equal load ratio, 13 minutes at half load. Both share the 190 × 390 × 325 mm tower case, the 6 C13 outlets and the C19 outlet; the 3K weighs 24.4 kg versus 18.6 kg.
