This product is covered for 2 years by a manufacturer's warranty (the brand's official warranty). Your iris.ma invoice serves as the warranty document: keep it safe.

The most powerful of the series, in 2U

The Amplon RT 3K carries the load of several servers in the same rack height as its smaller siblings. What changes is everything else: depth, weight, mains connection. Here is what to plan before mounting it.

Plan for 610 mm and two pairs of arms

The unit measures 440 × 610 × 89 mm and weighs 28 kg: it needs a deep enough four-post rack, and Delta recommends lifting it with two people. Alone, you first remove the internal batteries, then refit them once the UPS is fixed. The brackets and rails are in the box, and only those should be used for mounting. Air enters through the front and exits at the back.

Runtime is added inside the rack

With its internal batteries, it lasts 7 minutes at 75% load as a typical value. To go further, Delta offers a 72 V external battery pack, sold as an option: same front, same 610 mm depth, but 44 kg to fit into the rack. It connects hot, just as the internal batteries are replaced.

A mains connection sized for 3 kVA

The input is a C20 inlet protected by a 25 A breaker, with the 16 A input cord included: the wall outlet must match. On the output side, the six C13 outlets share 13.5 A, and the C19 outlet alone can deliver 13.5 A to the most power-hungry device.

On a site backed up by a generator, the Amplon RT 3K is declared generator compatible: its batteries hold while the generator starts.

Frequently asked questions about this product

Can the Amplon RT 3K be installed in a 19-inch rack?
Yes. It takes 2U in a 19-inch rack, with its mounting brackets and rail kit included in the box; allow 610 mm of depth. It can also stand upright in tower format with the optional Delta tower stand kit; its LCD screen swivels to stay readable in both positions.
How much runtime does the Delta Amplon RT 3K offer?
About 7 min at 75% load with its internal batteries. To last longer, it connects to an optional Delta 72 V external battery pack (same 2U format), which can be added or removed without powering down the equipment. Cutting secondary loads on battery also extends the runtime of essential devices.
Can the batteries of the Amplon RT 3K be replaced without shutting everything down?
Yes, its internal batteries are hot-swappable: the equipment stays powered during the intervention. They are sealed, maintenance-free 12 V / 9 Ah lead-acid batteries; replacement must be done or supervised by a qualified technician, using the same number and type of batteries.
How can the Delta Amplon RT 3K be monitored?
Through its USB or RS-232 port with the UPSentry 2012 software: automatic server shutdown, event log, battery self-test and remaining-time estimate. Its SMART slot accepts an optional SNMP card for network monitoring, a relay card or a Modbus card, and a REPO contact allows remote emergency power off.
How is the Amplon RT 3K connected to the mains?
Through its IEC C20 inlet, protected by a 25 A circuit breaker, with the supplied 16 A input cord. Plan a wall socket and a line rated for that current: at 2700 W, the UPS draws far more than a PC. On the output side, a 10 A cord and a 16 A cord are supplied for the first devices.
