This product is covered for 1 year by a manufacturer's warranty (the brand's official warranty). Your iris.ma invoice serves as the warranty document: keep it safe.

Frequently asked questions about this product

How long does the 9E2000I run on battery?
16 minutes at half load, i.e. at 800 W, and 7 minutes at full load. The gap is more than twofold: it is the load actually connected, not the VA rating, that determines how much time you will have to shut down your machines.
Which outlets does the Eaton 9E2000I have?
Six C13 outlets on the output, the format used by computer and server power cords, and a C14 input. So make sure you have IEC cords for your machines: there are no household sockets on the unit.
Can the 9E2000I's runtime be extended?
Yes, it accepts up to four optional external battery modules, in addition to its six internal 12 V / 7 Ah batteries. The internal batteries are hot-swappable, without cutting power to the protected equipment.
Can a 2000 VA online UPS sit next to a workstation?
Yes: it is rated at less than 37 dB at one metre, which is very low for a double-conversion unit, and its heat dissipation is limited to 491 BTU per hour. It fits in an office, unlike the higher-power models in the same family.
What input voltage can the 9E2000I handle?
176 to 300 V in normal operation, and up to 100-300 V with power derating. Frequency is accepted from 40 to 70 Hz. On a grid that regularly sags, this wide range avoids drawing on the battery at every dip.
Why does 2000 VA only give 1600 W?
The output power factor is 0.8: 2000 × 0.8 = 1600 W. That is already much better than the 0.6 of entry-level UPSs, but it is indeed this figure in watts that you need to compare against the combined consumption of your servers.
What is the 9E2000I's efficiency, and is there an economy mode?
91% in normal operation and 97.5% in ECO mode. ECO mode reduces the UPS's own consumption by lightening the power processing: it is meant for use when the mains is clean, not when it is unstable.
Does service continue if the UPS fails?
Yes, an internal bypass keeps the equipment powered if the UPS fails or in the event of a downstream short circuit. This is one of the benefits of the online double-conversion topology in this range.
How do you automatically shut down a server or a hypervisor?
Via the HID-compatible USB port or the RS-232 serial port — both cables are in the box — with the Eaton Intelligent Power Manager and Intelligent Power Protector software. VMware, Hyper-V, Citrix Xen and Red Hat virtualised environments are supported.
Can the 9E2000I be monitored over the network?
Not as it stands: no network card is included and there is no built-in Ethernet interface. A communication card slot is provided to add one as an option; failing that, the LCD screen shows the status and readings in real time.
How much space does the UPS take up, and can it be rack-mounted?
399 mm long, 330 high and 190 wide, weighing 15.8 kg: a compact tower format. No rack-mount kit is provided; it stands on the floor or on a shelf able to bear its weight.
Is the Eaton 9E 9E2000I new and under warranty?
Yes, new equipment, with the invoice serving as the warranty document. The box contains the UPS, a USB cable, a serial cable, the quick start guide and the safety instructions; the unit is CE and TÜV certified and complies with IEC/EN 62040-1 and 62040-2.
