An unstable grid does not get through
Mains power is first converted to DC, then the UPS regenerates a pure 230 V sine wave, regulated to within 1 %; 220 or 240 V can also be programmed. It accepts an input of 180 to 285 V at full load, and down to 110 V when the load stays below 40 %, before calling on its 48 V / 9 Ah battery.
At the back, everything a rack needs
C14 inlet and circuit breaker on the left, card slot in the middle, four C13 outlets on the right.
Four battery-backed C13 outlets, a C14 inlet with a 16 A circuit breaker, a USB port, an RS-232 port and an emergency power off terminal. The Intelligent Card Slot stays free for a network management card. With the supplied USB cable and PowerChute Serial Shutdown software, the server shuts itself down before the runtime runs out.
The -E generation, at 1800 W
Compared with the 1600 W SRV2KRI, this version gains 200 usable watts at the same apparent power. It has an LCD control screen, battery start without mains power and a Green mode, which sends grid power straight to the equipment as long as it stays within the set limits.
The rails are not in the box: only the front brackets and their screws are supplied. Plan a shelf in the rack, or the SRVRK1 rail kit, to carry the 18.8 kg.

Frequently asked questions about this product
What is the difference between the SRV2KRI-E and the SRV2KRI?
Usable power: the SRV2KRI-E delivers 1800 W for 2000 VA, the previous version 1600 W. Both are 2U rack-mount online UPSs with four C13 outlets. The -E model states 945 J of surge protection and comes with a 1.5 m Schuko-to-C13 input cord, without mounting rails.
Are rack mounting rails supplied?
No: only the two front brackets and their eight screws are in the box. To carry its 18.8 kg, you need either a shelf already installed in the rack or the SRVRK1 rail kit, offered as an option by APC. It is installed at the bottom of the rack, below the equipment it powers.
Can it shut down a server properly during an outage?
Yes: with the supplied USB or RS-232 cable and the PowerChute Serial Shutdown software, downloaded from the manufacturer, the UPS triggers the operating system shutdown before the runtime ends. The software installs on a 64-bit system. USB and RS-232 cannot be used at the same time.
What does double-conversion online mean for my equipment?
A continuously regenerated voltage: the UPS converts mains power to DC and then recreates a pure 230 V sine wave, regulated to ± 1 %. There is therefore no transfer time during an outage, and grid variations, from 180 to 285 V at full load, do not reach the connected devices.
Is the battery replaceable?
Yes, with an APCRBCV201 48 V / 9 Ah module, to be changed at the latest every five years or as soon as the UPS signals it. Its service life is three to five years and shortens with heat and frequent outages. On delivery, the battery is disconnected: it is connected before the first power-up.
Can the UPS be started without mains power?
Yes, thanks to cold start: pressing the power button once lights up the screen, a second press powers the equipment from the battery. This is useful to restart a server during a prolonged outage, within the limits of the available runtime.
26 minutes of runtime for 400 W drawn, 12 minutes at half load (800 W): ample time to save and shut down cleanly. The LCD display shows the load and the remaining runtime without any software.
•Runtime 12 minutes at half load (800 W)
•Runtime 26 minutes for 400 W drawn
•C13 outlets: the format of computer and server power cords
16 minutes of runtime at half load (800 W), and under 37 dB: it can sit next to a workstation without being heard. Its batteries are replaced without cutting the power.
•16 minutes of runtime at half load (800 W)
•7 minutes of runtime at full load
•6 C13 outlets, the format used by computer and server cords
