Does the SRV10KRI connect via outlets or a terminal block?
Via a 3-wire terminal block (live, neutral, earth), for both input and output: there are no outlets on the unit. The connection is fixed wiring, to be carried out by an electrician, and the dedicated circuit must be provided at the distribution board before the UPS is delivered.
Why is this 10 kVA unit rated at 10,000 W, and not 6,000 or 7,000?
Because its power factor is 1: the full 10,000 VA is available in watts. It is this figure that you should compare with the combined consumption of a complete rack — servers, storage, switches — and not the apparent power.
What rack height and depth do you need?
4U high (17.3 cm), 43.8 cm wide and 61.5 cm deep, and the rack-mount brackets are supplied. This depth rules out short-depth racks: check it, as well as cable routing at the rear, before ordering.
How much does the SRV10KRI weigh, and how is it rack-mounted?
68 kg unpacked, 79 kg with its packaging. At this weight, handling takes several people and the unit goes at the bottom of the cabinet, on rails or a shelf able to bear it: this is not an installation to improvise on your own.
What input voltage range does the UPS tolerate?
176 to 300 V at full load, widening to 110-300 V at half load: the more heavily the UPS is loaded, the narrower the tolerance. Frequency is accepted from 40 to 70 Hz, which leaves headroom on a very disturbed grid.
What is the quality of the output power?
A sine wave with a crest factor of 3:1, continuously regenerated by double conversion: the output is stabilised at 230 V (configurable to 220 or 240 V) and synchronised with the grid at 50/60 Hz ± 3 Hz.
Can the rack be kept powered during work on the UPS?
Yes, thanks to the automatic and manual internal bypass: manual mode deliberately transfers the load to the direct mains supply, while automatic mode takes over in the event of an internal fault. Conversely, an emergency power off (EPO) button cuts everything instantly.
How much noise does it make, and where should it be installed?
58 dB: it is a fan-cooled unit, best kept in a rack or technical room. It operates between 0 and 40 °C and up to 95% humidity non-condensing, with an IP20 rating that requires a clean, dry environment.
How long do the batteries take to recharge?
3 hours for a full recharge, with a charging power of 531 W. This power adds to that of your equipment while recharging: a point to bear in mind on an electrical circuit sized very tightly.
Which cables and ports allow the servers to be shut down cleanly?
A USB port, a DB-9 RS-232 serial port and an Intelligent Smart Slot for a management card. The USB and RS-232 cables are supplied, along with the software CD, the rack brackets and the user manual.
What can you read and adjust on the UPS without using software?
A front-panel multifunction LCD control and status console. It is backed by three distinct audible alarms: switch to battery, low battery threshold, and a continuous tone in the event of overload.
Is the APC Easy UPS SRV10KRI new and under warranty?
Yes, new equipment, with the invoice serving as the warranty document, for a period of 2 years covering repair or replacement. It is CE-certified and complies with the IEC 62040-1-1 and 62040-1-2 standards; the datasheet lists all the values.
